ወደእነርሱም እስክትወጣ ድረስ እነርሱ በታገሱ ኖሮ ለእነርሱ በላጭ በኾነ ነበር ፡ ፡ አላህም እጅግ መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው ፡ ፡

and if they had believed and kept from evil , a recompense from allah would be better , if they only knew .
እነርሱም ( አይሁዶች ) ባመኑና በተጠነቀቁ ኖሮ ( በተመነዱ ነበር ) ፡ ፡ የሚያውቁ ቢኾኑ ከአላህ ዘንድ የኾነው ምንዳ ( ነፍሶቻቸውን ከሚሸጡበት ) በላጭ ነው ፡ ፤

and had they been patient until you yourself came out to them , it would be better for them ; and allah is oft forgiving , most merciful .
ወደእነርሱም እስክትወጣ ድረስ እነርሱ በታገሱ ኖሮ ለእነርሱ በላጭ በኾነ ነበር ፡ ፡ አላህም እጅግ መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው ፡ ፡

to replace them by others who would be better than they ; and we shall certainly not be overpowered .
ከእነርሱ የተሻለን በመለወጥ ላይ ፡ ፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

obedience and saying what is just would become them more ; when the decision is taken , it would be better for them if they acted sincerely towards god .
ታዛዥነትና መልካም ንግግር ( ይሻላቸዋል ) ትዕዛዙም ቁርጥ በኾነ ጊዜ ለአላህ ( ትዕዛዝ ) እውነተኞች በኾኑ ኖሮ ለእነርሱ የተሻለ በኾነ ነበር ፡ ፡

if the debtor is in straitened circumstances , then grant him respite till a time of ease . if you were to write it off as an act of charity , that would be better for you , if only you knew .
የድኽነት ባለቤት የኾነም ( ባለዕዳ ) ሰው ቢኖር እማግኘት ድረስ ማቆየት ነው ፡ ፡ ( በመማር ) መመጽወታችሁም ለእናንተ በላጭ ነው ፡ ፡ የምታውቁ ብትኾኑ ( ትሠሩታላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

the reward of those who do good works in this world is good , but the abode of the hereafter is even better . the home of the righteous is indeed excellent .
ለእነዚያም ለተጠነቀቁት « ጌታችሁ ምንን ነገር አወረደ » ተባሉ ፡ ፡ « መልካምን ነገር » አሉ ፡ ፡ ለእነዚያ ደግ ለሠሩት በዚሀች በቅርቢቱ ዓለም መልካም ኑሮ አላቸው ፡ ፡ የመጨረሻይቱም አገር በእርግጥ በላጭ ናት ፡ ፡ የጥንቁቆቹም አገር ምን ታምር !

and if they had patience , until thou comest out to them , that would be better for them ; and god is all-forgiving , all-compassionate .
ወደእነርሱም እስክትወጣ ድረስ እነርሱ በታገሱ ኖሮ ለእነርሱ በላጭ በኾነ ነበር ፡ ፡ አላህም እጅግ መሓሪ አዛኝ ነው ፡ ፡

they swore their most solemn oaths that if a warner should ever come to them , they would be better guided than any other community . but when a warner did come to them , it only increased their aversion ,
አስፈራሪም ቢመጣላቸው ከሕዝቦቹ ሁሉ ከአንደኛዋ ይበልጥ የተመሩ ሊኾኑ የመሓላቸውን ድካ አድርሰው በአላህ ማሉ ፡ ፡ አስፈራሪም በመጣላቸው ጊዜ መበርገግን እንጂ ሌላ አልጨመረላቸውም ፡ ፡

yet obedience and honorable words ( would be better for them ) . then , when the matter is decided , if they were true to allah it would be better for them .
ታዛዥነትና መልካም ንግግር ( ይሻላቸዋል ) ትዕዛዙም ቁርጥ በኾነ ጊዜ ለአላህ ( ትዕዛዝ ) እውነተኞች በኾኑ ኖሮ ለእነርሱ የተሻለ በኾነ ነበር ፡ ፡

and they swore by allah with the strongest of their oaths that if there came to them a warner they would be better guided than any of the nations ; but when there came to them a warner it increased them in naught but aversion .
አስፈራሪም ቢመጣላቸው ከሕዝቦቹ ሁሉ ከአንደኛዋ ይበልጥ የተመሩ ሊኾኑ የመሓላቸውን ድካ አድርሰው በአላህ ማሉ ፡ ፡ አስፈራሪም በመጣላቸው ጊዜ መበርገግን እንጂ ሌላ አልጨመረላቸውም ፡ ፡

and if we had decreed for them : lay down your lives or go forth from your dwellings , but few of them would have done it ; though if they did what they are exhorted to do it would be better for them , and more strengthening ;
እኛም በእነርሱ ላይ ፡ - « ነፍሶቻችሁን ግደሉ ወይም ከአገሮቻችሁ ውጡ » ማለትን በጻፍን ኖሮ ከነሱ ጥቂቶቹ እንጅ ባልሠሩት ነበር ፡ ፡ እነርሱም በእርሱ የሚገሰጹበትን ነገር በሠሩ ኖሮ ለነሱ መልካምና ( በእምነታቸው ላይ ) ለመርጋትም በጣም የበረታ በኾነ ነበር ፡ ፡

and if the debtor is in straitened circumstances , then ( let there be ) postponement to ( the time of ) ease ; and that ye remit the debt as almsgiving would be better for you if ye did but know .
የድኽነት ባለቤት የኾነም ( ባለዕዳ ) ሰው ቢኖር እማግኘት ድረስ ማቆየት ነው ፡ ፡ ( በመማር ) መመጽወታችሁም ለእናንተ በላጭ ነው ፡ ፡ የምታውቁ ብትኾኑ ( ትሠሩታላችሁ ) ፡ ፡

there is no harm if you take any of those ( whose turn ) you had deferred . this would be better as it would gladden their hearts and they will not grieve , and each will be happy with what you have given her .
ከእነርሱ የምትሻትን ታቆያለህ ፡ ፡ የምትሻውንም ወደ አንተ ታስጠጋለህ ፡ ፡ ( በመፍታት ) ከአራቅሃትም የፈለግሃትን ( በመመለስ ብታስጠጋ ) በአንተ ላይ ኀጢአት የለብህም ፡ ፡ ይህ ዓይኖቻቸው ወደ መርጋት ፣ ወደ አለማዘናቸውም ፣ ለሁሉም በሰጠሃቸው ነገር ወደ መውደዳቸውም በጣም የቀረበ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም በልቦቻችሁ ውስጥ ያለውን ሁሉ ያውቃል ፡ ፡ አላህም ዐዋቂ ታጋሽ ነው ፡ ፡

those who would be firm in devotion , give zakat , and enjoin what is good and forbid what is wrong , if we gave them authority in the land . but the resultance of things rests with god .
( እነርሱም ) እነዚያ በምድር ላይ ብናስመቻቸው ሶላትን እንደሚገባ የሚያስተካክሉ ፣ ዘካንም የሚሰጡ ፣ በደግ ነገርም የሚያዝዙ ፣ ከመጥፎ ነገርም የሚከለክሉ ናቸው ፡ ፡ የነገሮቹም ሁሉ መጨረሻ ወደ አላህ ነው ፡ ፡

and the muslims say , “ why was not a chapter sent down ? ” so when a positive chapter was sent down , and war was commanded in it , you will see those in whose hearts is a disease looking at you with the dazed looks of a dying man ; so it would be better for them . –
እነዚያም ያመኑት ሰዎች ( መታገል ያለባት ) « ሱራ አትወርድም ኖሮአልን ? » ይላሉ ፡ ፡ የጠነከረችም ሱራ በተወረደችና በውስጧም መጋደል በተወሳ ጊዜ እነዚያን በልቦቻቸው ውስጥ ( የንፍቅና ) በሺታ ያለባቸውን ሰዎች ከሞት የኾነ መከራ በርሱ ላይ እንደ ወደቀበት ሰው አስተያየት ወዳንተ ሲመለከቱ ታያቸዋለህ ፡ ፡ ለእነሱም ወዮላቸው ፡ ፡

as for your women past the age of bearing children , who have no hope of marriage , there is no harm if they take off their outer garments , but in such a way that they do not display their charms ; yet if they avoid this it would be better for them . god is all-hearing and all-knowing .
ከሴቶችም እነዚያ ጋብቻን የማይፈልጉት ተቀማጮች ( ባልቴቶች ) ፤ በጌጥ የተገለፁ ሳይኾኑ የላይ ልብሶቻቸውን ቢጥሉ በእነሱ ላይ ኀጢአት የለባቸውም ፡ ፡ ግን መጠበቃቸው ለእነርሱ የተሻለ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም ሰሚ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡

if both of you two ( women ) turn to god in penitence ( it would be better ) . your hearts have been impaired ; and if you assist one another against him , then surely his helper is god , and gabriel and the righteous believers , and , besides them , the angels are his helpers .
ወደ አላህ ብትመለሱ ልቦቻችሁ በእርግጥ ተዘንብለዋልና ( ትስማማላችሁ ) ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ላይ ብትረዳዱ አላህ እርሱ ረዳቱ ነው ፡ ፡ ጂብሪልም ከምእምናንም መልካሙ ከዚህም በኋላ መላእክቱ ረዳቶቹ ናቸው ፡ ፡

whatever you ( people ) have been given are only the means for enjoyment and beauty of the worldly life , but the means of enjoyment ( which you will receive from god ) in the life to come will be better and everlasting . will you then not take heed ?
ከማንኛውም ነገር የተሰጣችሁት ፤ የቅርቢቱ ሕይወት ጥቅምና ጌጧ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህ ዘንድ ያለውም ( ምንዳ ) በጣም በላጭና ዘውታሪ ነው አታውቁምን

and he said to him whom he knew would be delivered of the two : remember me with your lord ; but the shaitan caused him to forget mentioning ( it ) to his lord , so he remained in the prison a few years .
ለዚያም ከሁለቱ እርሱ የሚድን መሆኑን ለተጠራጠረው እጌታህ ዘንድ አስታውሰኝ አለው ፡ ፡ ጌታውንም ከማስታወስ ሰይጣን አስረሳው ፡ ፡ ለጥቂት ዓመታትም በወህኒ ቤቱ ውስጥ ቆየ ፡ ፡
