we have revealed this surah and made it obligatory as we have sent down clear injunctions in it that you may be warned.
นี่คือซูเราะฮ์หนึ่งที่เราได้ประทานมันลงมา และเราได้กำหนดเป็นข้อบังคับสิ่งที่มีอยู่ในมัน และเราได้ประทานโองการต่าง ๆ ที่มีอยู่ในนั้นให้เป็นบทบัญญัติอันชัดแจ้ง เพื่อพวกเจ้าจักได้รำลึกใคร่ครวญ

allah chargeth you concerning (the provision for) your children: to the male the equivalent of the portion of two females, and if there be women more than two, then theirs is two-thirds of the inheritance, and if there be one (only) then the half. and to each of his parents a sixth of the inheritance, if he have a son; and if he have no son and his parents are his heirs, then to his mother appertaineth the third; and if he have brethren, then to his mother appertaineth the sixth, after any legacy he may have bequeathed, or debt (hath been paid). your parents and your children: ye know not which of them is nearer unto you in usefulness. it is an injunction from allah. lo! allah is knower, wise.
อัลลอฮฺได้ทรงสั่งพวกเจ้าไว้ในลูก ๆของพวกเจ้าว่า สำหรับเพศชายนั้นจะได้รับ เท่ากับส่วนได้ของเพศหญิงสองคน แต่ถ้าลูกๆ เป็นหญิงเกินกว่าสองคน พวกนางก็จะได้สองในสามของสิ่งที่เขา ได้ทิ้งไว้ และถ้าลูกเป็นหญิงคนเดียว นางก็จะได้ครึ่งหนึ่ง และสำหรับบิดาและมารดาของเขานั้น แต่ละคนในทั้งสองนั้นจะได้หนึ่งในหกจากสิ่งที่เขา ได้ทิ้งไว้หากเขามีบุตร แต่ถ้าเขาไม่มีบุตรและมีบิดามารดาของเขาเท่านั้นที่รับมรดกของเขาแล้ว มารดาของเขาก็ได้รับหนึ่งในสาม ถ้าเขามีพี่น้องหลายคน มารดาของเขาก็ได้รับหนึ่งในหกทั้งนี้หลังจากพินัยกรรมที่เขาได้สั่งเสียมันไว้หรือหลังจากหนี้สิน บรรดาบิดาของพวกเจ้าและลูก ๆ ของพวกเจ้านั้น พวกเจ้าไม่รู้ดอกว่าฝ่ายไหนในพวกเขานั้นเป็นผู้ที่มีคุณประโยชน์แก่พวกเจ้าใกล้กว่ากัน ทั้งนี้เป็นบัญญัติที่มาจากอัลลอฮฺ แท้จริงอัลลอฮฺเป็นผู้ทรงรอบรู้ ผู้ทรงปรีชาญาณ
