Տէր Աստուած ասաց Նոյին. «Դու եւ քո ողջ ընտանիքը մտէ՛ք տապան, որովհետեւ մարդկային ցեղի մէջ միայն քե՛զ գտայ արդար իմ հանդէպ:

keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for i will not justify the wicked.
Հեռու կը մնաս ամէն տեսակ անիրաւ գործերից: Մահուան չդատապարտես անպարտին ու արդարին: Մեղաւորին կաշառուելով չարդարացնես:

peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

Վա՜յ ձեզ կեղծաւորներիդ՝ օրէնսգէտներիդ եւ փարիսեցիներիդ, որ մարգարէների շիրիմներն էք շինում եւ արդարների գերեզմաններն էք զարդարում ու ասում էք.

Փարաւոնը մարդ ուղարկելով՝ կանչեց Մովսէսին ու Ահարոնին եւ ասաց նրանց. «Մեղք եմ գործել: Այսուհետեւ Տէրն արդար է, իսկ ես ու իմ ժողովուրդը ամբարիշտներ ենք:

for verily i say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Ճշմարիտ եմ ասում ձեզ, որ շատ մարգարէներ ու արդարներ ցանկացան տեսնել, ինչ որ դուք տեսնում էք, բայց չտեսան, եւ լսել՝ ինչ որ դուք լսում էք, բայց չլսեցին»:

he that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
Ով մարգարէին ընդունում է իբրեւ մարգարէի, մարգարէի վարձ կը ստանայ. ով արդարին ընդունում է իբրեւ արդարի, արդարի վարձ կը ստանայ:
