تاکہ اس (نعمتِ نجات) کی ناشکری کریں جو ہم نے انہیں عطا کی اور (کفر کی زندگی کے حرام) فائدے اٹھاتے رہیں۔ پس وہ عنقریب (اپنا انجام) جان لیں گے،

and if we please we would surely transform them in their place, then they would not be able to go on, nor will they return.
اور اگر ہم چاہتے تو ان کی جگہ ہی پر ان کی صورتیں مسﺦ کر دیتے پھر نہ وه چل پھر سکتے اور نہ لوٹ سکتے

therefore leave them alone to go on with the false discourses and to sport until they come face to face with that day of theirs with which they are threatened;
تو (اے پیغمبر) ان کو باطل میں پڑے رہنے اور کھیل لینے دو یہاں تک کہ جس دن کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے وہ ان کے سامنے آ موجود ہو

thus we gave joseph authority in the land so that he lived wherever he liked. we bestow our favours on whomsoever we please, and do not allow the reward of those who are good to go waste.
اس طرح ہم نے یوسف کو ملک (مصر) میں جگہ دی اور وہ اس ملک میں جہاں چاہتے تھے رہتے تھے۔ ہم اپنی رحمت جس پر چاہتے ہیں کرتے ہیں اور نیکوکاروں کے اجر کو ضائع نہیں کرتے

thus did we establish joseph in the land so that he could settle wherever he pleased. we bestow favour, out of our mercy, on whomsoever we please, and we do not cause the reward of those who do good to go to waste.
اس طرح ہم نے یوسف کو ملک (مصر) میں جگہ دی اور وہ اس ملک میں جہاں چاہتے تھے رہتے تھے۔ ہم اپنی رحمت جس پر چاہتے ہیں کرتے ہیں اور نیکوکاروں کے اجر کو ضائع نہیں کرتے

glory be to him who made his servant to go on a night from the sacred mosque to the remote mosque of which we have blessed the precincts, so that we may show to him some of our signs; surely he is the hearing, the seeing.
وہ (ذات) پاک ہے جو ایک رات اپنے بندے کو مسجدالحرام یعنی (خانہٴ کعبہ) سے مسجد اقصیٰ (یعنی بیت المقدس) تک جس کے گردا گرد ہم نے برکتیں رکھی ہیں لے گیا تاکہ ہم اسے اپنی (قدرت کی) نشانیاں دکھائیں۔ بےشک وہ سننے والا (اور) دیکھنے والا ہے

he it is who maketh you to go on the land and the sea till, when ye are in the ships and they sail with them with a fair breeze and they are glad therein, a storm-wind reacheth them and the wave cometh unto them from every side and they deem that they are overwhelmed therein; (then) they cry unto allah, making their faith pure for him only: if thou deliver us from this, we truly will be of the thankful.
وه اللہ ایسا ہے کہ تم کو خشکی اور دریا میں چلاتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ جب تم کشتی میں ہوتے ہو اور وه کشتیاں لوگوں کو موافق ہوا کے ذریعہ سے لے کر چلتی ہیں اور وه لوگ ان سے خوش ہوتے ہیں ان پر ایک جھونکا سخت ہوا کا آتا ہے اور ہر طرف سے ان پر موجیں اٹھتی چلی آتی ہیں اور وه سمجھتے ہیں کہ (برے) آ گھرے، (اس وقت) سب خالص اعتقاد کرکے اللہ ہی کو پکارتے ہیں کہ اگر تو ہم کو اس سے بچالے تو ہم ضرور شکر گزار بن جائیں گے
