o the cloaked one! (prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)
(போர்வை) போர்த்திக் கொண்டு இருப்பவரே!

for you (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) are in this city.
நீர் இந்நகரத்தில் (சுதந்திரமாகத்) தங்கியிருக்கும் நிலையில்,

o the one wrapped in piety! (prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)
போர்வை போர்த்திக் கொண்டிருப்பவரே!

and o dear prophet (mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives.
இன்னும், உம்முடைய நெருங்கிய உறவினர்களுக்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக!

proclaim, (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “o disbelievers!”
(நபியே!) நீர் சொல்வீராக: "காஃபிர்களே!

did the news of ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)?
இப்றாஹீமின் கண்ணியம் மிக்க விருந்தினர்களின் செய்தி உமக்கு வந்ததா?

you (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) are indeed one of the noble messengers.
நிச்சயமாக, நீர் (நம்) தூதர்களில் உள்ளவராவீர்.

and indeed your lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (allah seeks to please the holy prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.)
இன்னும், உம்முடைய இறைவன் வெகு சீக்கிரம் உமக்கு (உயர் பதவிகளைக்) கொடுப்பான்; அப்பொழுது நீர் திருப்தியடைவீர்.

possibly you may risk your life (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) by grieving, because they did not believe.
(நபியே!) அவர்கள் முஃமின்களாகாமல் இருப்பதற்காக (துக்கத்தால்) உம்மை நீரே அழித்துக்கொள்வீர் போலும்!

o dear prophet (mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), did you not see how did your lord deal with the people of the elephant?
(நபியே!) யானை(ப் படை)க் காரர்களை உம் இறைவன் என்ன செய்தான் என்பதை நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

proclaim (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “he is allah, he is one.”
(நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக: அல்லாஹ் அவன் ஒருவனே.

by your life o dear prophet (mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication.
(நபியே!) உம் உயிர் மீது சத்தியமாக, நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தம் மதிமயக்கத்தில் தட்டழிந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

it is they whom allah has cursed; and for those whom allah has cursed, you (prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) will never find any supporter.
இவர்களைத்தான் அல்லாஹ் சபிக்கிறான்;. எவர்களை அல்லாஹ் சபிக்கிறானோ அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்பவர் எவரையும் நீர் காணமாட்டீர்.

and o dear prophet (mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) adopt forgiveness, and enjoin virtue, and turn away from the ignorant.
எனினும் (நபியே) மன்னிப்பைக் கைக் கொள்வீராக! நன்மையைக் கடைபிடிக்குமாறு (மக்களை) ஏவுவீராக மேலும் அறிவீனர்களைப் புறக்கணித்து விடும்.

had they believed in allah and this prophet (mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) and what is sent down upon him, they would not befriend the disbelievers, but most of them are disobedient.
அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும் நபியின் மீதும், அவர் மீது இறக்கப்பட்ட (வேதத்)தின் மீதும் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டிருந்தார்களானால், அவர்கள், காஃபிர்களைத் (தங்களின்) உற்ற நண்பர்களாக ஆக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கமாட்டார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்களில் அநேகர் பாவிகளாகவே இருக்கின்றனர்.

and (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) say, “my lord! forgive and have mercy, and you are the best of all the merciful.
இன்னும், "என் இறைவனே! நீ என்னை மன்னித்துக் கிருபை செய்வாயாக! நீ தான் கிருபையாளர்களிலெல்லாம் மிக்க மேலானவன்" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் பிரார்த்திப்பீராக!

except the mercy of your lord; indeed his munificence upon you (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is extremely great.
ஆனால் உம் இறைவனுடைய ரஹ்மத்தைத் தவிர (இவ்வாறு நிகழாமல் இருப்பதற்கு வேறெதுவுமில்லை) நிச்சயமாக உம் மீது அவனுடைய அருட்கொடை மிகப் பெரிதாகவே இருக்கிறது.

proclaim (o dear prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) “i warn you only with the divine revelation; and the deaf do not hear the call when warned.”
"நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதெல்லாம் வஹீ மூலம் எனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதைக் கொண்டேதான்" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறும்; எனினும், செவிடர்கள் அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கப்படும் போது, (அவர்கள் நேர்வழி பெறும்) அந்த அழைப்பைச் செவிமடுக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

and if you call them to guidance they do not listen; and you (prophet mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) observe them looking towards you, whereas they do not perceive anything.
நீங்கள் அவர்களை நேர் வழியின் பக்கம் அழைப்பீர்களானால், அவர்கள் கேட்கமாட்டார்கள். (நபியே!) அவர்கள் உம்மைப் பார்ப்பது போல் உமக்குத் தோன்றும்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் (உம்மைப்)பார்ப்பதில்லை.
