དབང་པོ་རྣམས་ནི་ནམ་མཁའི་རྗེས་སུ་འགྲོ་བར་འགྱུར་རོ། །
the senses fade into space.

ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ཕ་མ་གསོན་ནམ། གལ་ཏེ་གསོན་ཞེས་ཟེར་ན། །
“are your parents still living?” if the ordinand says his parents are still living, he is then asked:

ཁྱོད་སྐྱེས་པ་ཡིན་ནམ། དེས་སྐྱེས་པ་ལགས་ཞེས་བརྗོད་པར་བྱའོ།
are you a male?” the postulant responds: “i am a male.”

དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་བསད་པ་མ་ཡིན་ནམ། དགེ་འདུན་གྱི་དབྱེན་བྱས་པ་མ་ཡིན་ནམ།
have you not killed an arhat? have you not caused a schism in the saṅgha?

བོང་བ་དང་གསེར་དུ་མཉམ་པ། ནམ་མཁའ་དང་ལག་མཐིལ་དུ་མཚུངས་པའི་སེམས་དང་ལྡན་པ།
for whom filth was equal to gold, for whom space was equal to the palm of his hand,

ཀླུ་རྣམས་དང་། གནོད་སྦྱིན་རྣམས་དང་། ནམ་མཁའ་ལྡིང་རྣམས་དང་། དྲི་ཟ་རྣམས་དང་།
the nāgas, yakṣas, garuḍas, gandharvas,

ཐ་དད་དུ་གནས་པ་མ་ཡིན་ནམ། གནས་པར་མི་བྱ་བ་མ་ཡིན་ནམ། མུ་སྟེགས་ཅན་མ་ཡིན་ནམ།
are you not in segregation? are you not fallen? are you not a tīrthika?
