say, "o people of the scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of allah while allah is witness over what you do?"
"வேதத்தையுடையோரே! அல்லாஹ்வின் ஆயத்கள் (என்னும் அத்தாட்சிகளையும், வசனங்களையும்) ஏன் நிராகரிக்கின்றீர்கள்? அல்லாஹ்வே நீங்கள் செய்யும் (அனைத்துச்) செயல்களையும் நோட்டமிட்டுப் பார்ப்பவனாக இருக்கிறானே!" என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

so that you would not grieve over what you have lost nor become too happy about what god has granted to you. god does not love the arrogant boastful ones who are niggardly and who try to make other people also niggardly.
உங்களை விட்டுத் தவறிப்போன ஒன்றின் மீது நீங்கள் துக்கப்படாமல் இருக்கவும், அவன் உங்களுக்கு அளித்தவற்றின் மீது நீங்கள் (அதிகம்) மகிழாதிருக்கவும் (இதனை உங்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் அறிவிக்கிறான்); கர்வமுடையவர்கள், தற்பெருமை உடையவர்கள் எவரையும் அல்லாஹ் நேசிப்பதில்லை.

o you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.
முஃமின்களே! ஃபாஸிக் (தீயவன்) எவனும் உங்களிடம் ஒரு செய்தியைக் கொண்டு வந்தால், அதைத் தீர்க்க விசாரித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்; (இல்லையேல்) அறியாமையினால் (குற்ற மற்ற) ஒரு சமூகத்தாருக்கு நீங்கள் தீங்கு செய்து விடலாம்; பின்னர் நீங்கள் செய்தவை பற்றி நீங்களே கைசேதப் படுபவர்களாக (கவலைப்படுபவர்களாக) ஆவீர்கள்.

and the [divorced] mothers should nurse their children for two whole years, if they wish to complete the period of nursing; and during that period the father of the child shall be responsible for the maintenance of the mother in a reasonable manner. no soul is charged with more than it can bear. no mother should be made to suffer on account of her child, and no father should be made to suffer on account of his child. the same duties devolve upon the father's heir [in case of the death of the father]. but if, after consultation, they choose by mutual agreement to wean the child, there shall be no blame on them. nor shall it be any offence for you if you desire to engage a wet-nurse for your children, provided you hand over what you have agreed to pay, in a reasonable manner. have fear of god and know that god is observant of all your actions.
(தலாக் சொல்லப்பட்ட மனைவியர், தம்) குழந்தைகளுக்குப் பூர்த்தியாகப் பாலூட்ட வேண்டுமென்று (தந்தை) விரும்பினால், தாய்மார்கள் தங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்கு நிரப்பமான இரண்டு ஆண்டுகள் பாலூட்டுதல் வேண்டும்;. பாலூட்டும் தாய்மாகளுக்கு (ஷரீஅத்தின்) முறைப்படி உணவும், உடையும் கொடுத்து வருவது குழந்தையுடைய தகப்பன் மீது கடமையாகும்;. எந்த ஓர் ஆத்மாவும் அதன் சக்திக்கு மேல் (எதுவும் செய்ய) நிர்ப்பந்திக்கப்பட மாட்டாது. தாயை அவளுடைய குழந்தையின் காரணமாகவோ. (அல்லது) தந்தையை அவன் குழந்தையின் காரணமாகவோ துன்புறுத்தப்படமாட்டாது. (குழந்தையின் தந்தை இறந்து விட்டால்) அதைப் பரிபாலிப்பது வாரிசுகள் கடமையாகும்; இன்னும், (தாய் தந்தையர்) இருவரும் பரஸ்பரம் இணங்கி, ஆலோசித்துப் பாலூட்டலை நிறுத்த விரும்பினால், அது அவர்கள் இருவர் மீதும் குற்றமாகாது. தவிர ஒரு செவிலித்தாயைக் கொண்டு உங்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்குப் பாலூட்ட விரும்பினால் அதில் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு குற்றமுமில்லை. ஆனால், (அக்குழந்தையின் தாய்க்கு உங்களிடமிருந்து) சேரவேண்டியதை முறைப்படி செலுத்திவிட வேண்டும்;. அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு அஞ்சி நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள் - நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்வதை பார்ப்பவனாக இருக்கிறான் என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.
