and how many a township stronger than thy township (o muhammad) which hath cast thee out, have we destroyed, and they had no helper!
மேலும், (நபியே!) உம்முடைய ஊரை விடடு உம்மை வெளியேற்றியவர்களை விட, எத்தனையோ ஊ(ரா)ர்கள் மிக்க பல முடையவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள். (அவர்கள் பாவத்தின் காரணமாக) அவர்களை நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம் - ஆகவே அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வோர் எவரும் இருக்கவில்லை.

and how many a city was stronger than your city [makkah] which drove you out? we destroyed them; and there was no helper for them.
மேலும், (நபியே!) உம்முடைய ஊரை விடடு உம்மை வெளியேற்றியவர்களை விட, எத்தனையோ ஊ(ரா)ர்கள் மிக்க பல முடையவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள். (அவர்கள் பாவத்தின் காரணமாக) அவர்களை நாம் அழித்து விட்டோம் - ஆகவே அவர்களுக்கு உதவி செய்வோர் எவரும் இருக்கவில்லை.

so the owner had fruit in abundance and he said to his neighbour, while conversing with him: "i have greater wealth than you and i am stronger than you in numbers."
இன்னும் அவனுக்கு (வேறு) கனிகளும் இருந்தன அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் தோழனிடம் விதண்டாவாதம் செய்தவனாக "நான் உன்மை விடப் பொருளால் அதிகமுள்ளவன், ஆட்களிலும் நான் (உன்னை) மிகைத்தவன்" என்று கூறினான்.

have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who have gone before them? they were stronger than themselves in might and left firmer traces in the earth, but allah seized them for their sinning, and they had none to protect them from allah.
இவர்கள் பூமியில் பிரயாணம் செய்து இவர்களுக்கு முன் இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு எப்படியிருந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்க வில்லையா? அவர்கள், பலத்தாலும், பூமியில் (விட்டுச் சென்ற பூர்வ)சின்னங்களாலும் இவர்களைவிட வலிமையுடையவர்களாகவே இருந்தார்கள் - ஆனால் அவர்களின் பாவங்களின் காரணமாக அவர்களை அல்லாஹ் பிடித்துக் கொண்டான்; இன்னும் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்ற எவரும் இல்லை.

(muhammad), ask them, "have they (people) been created stronger than what we have created?" we have created them from moist clay.

have they not travelled through the land to see how terrible was the end of the people who lived before them. the people who lived before them were stronger than them in might, in tilling, and in developing the earth. our messengers came to them with clear miracles. god did not do an injustice to them but they wronged themselves.
அவர்கள் பூமியில் சுற்றிப் பயணம் செய்து, அவர்களுக்கு முன்னால் இருந்தவர்களின் முடிவு என்னவாயிற்று என்பதைப் பார்க்கவில்லையா? அவர்கள் இவர்களைவிட வலிமை மிக்கவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்களும் பூமியில் விவசாயம் செய்தார்கள். இன்னும் இவர்கள் அதை (உழுது) பண்படுத்தியதை விட அவர்கள் அதை அதிகமாகவே (உழுது) பண்படுத்தியிருந்தார்கள். அவர்களிடமும் அவர்களுக்கான (இறை) தூதர்கள் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளைக் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; அல்லாஹ் அவர்களுக்கு ஒருபோதும் அநியாயம் செய்யவில்லை. ஆனால், அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குத் தாங்களே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டார்கள்.

[you disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. they enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [it is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the hereafter, and it is they who are the losers.
(முனாஃபிக்குகளே! உங்களுடைய நிலைமை) உங்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தவர்களின் நிலைமையை ஒத்திருக்கிறது அவர்கள் உங்களைவிட வலிமை மிக்கவர்களாகவும், செல்வங்களிலும், மக்களிலும் மிகைத்தவர்களாகவும் இருந்தார்கள்; (இவ்வுலகில்) தங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த பாக்கியங்களைக் கொண்டு அவர்கள் சுகமடைந்தார்கள்; உங்களுக்கு முன் இருந்தவர்கள் அவர்களுக்குரிய பாக்கியங்களால் சுகம் பெற்றது போன்று, நீங்களும் உங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த பாக்கியங்களால் சுகம் பெற்றீர்கள். அவர்கள் (வீண் விவாதங்களில்) மூழ்கிக்கிடந்தவாறே நீங்களும் மூழ்கி விட்டீர்கள்; இம்மையிலும், மறுமையிலும் அவர்களுடைய செயல்கள் யாவும் (பலனில்லாமல்) அழிந்து விட்டன - அவர்கள்தான் நஷ்டவாளிகள்.
