இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய மஸ்ஜிதுகளில் அல்லாஹ்வின் பெயரைச் சொல்லித் துதிப்பதைத் தடுத்து, இவற்றைப் பாழாக்க முயல்பவனை விட, பெரிய கொடுமைக்காரன் யார் இருக்க முடியும்? இத்தகையோர் அச்சமுடனன்றி பள்ளிவாயில்களில் நுழைவதற்கு தகுதியே இல்லாதவர்கள், இவர்களுக்கு இவ்(வுலக) வாழ்வில் இழிவுதான்; மேலும், மறுமையில் இவர்களுக்குக் கடுமையான வேதனையும் உண்டு.

he said: my lord! appoint a sign for me. said he: your sign is that you should not speak to men for three days except by signs; and remember your lord much and glorify him in the evening and the morning.
"என் இறைவனே! (இதற்கான) ஓர் அறிகுறியை எனக்குக் கொடுத்தருள்வாயாக!" என்று (ஜகரிய்யா) கேட்டார். அதற்கு (இறைவன்), "உமக்கு அறிகுறியாவது, மூன்று நாட்களுக்குச் சைகைகள் மூலமாக அன்றி நீர் மக்களிடம் பேசமாட்டீர்! நீர் உம் இறைவனை அதிகமதிகம் நினைவு கூர்ந்து, அவனைக் காலையிலும் மாலையிலும் போற்றித் துதிப்பீராக!" என்று கூறினான்.
