वह लोग कहने लगे कि ऐ मूसा इस मुल्क में तो बड़े ज़बरदस्त लोग रहते हैं और जब तक वह लोग इसमें से निकल न जाएं हम तो उसमें कभी पॉव भी न रखेंगे हॉ अगर वह लोग ख़ुद इसमें से निकल जाएं तो अलबत्ता हम ज़रूर जाएंगे

they said : o moses ! lo ! a giant people therein and lo ! we go not in till they go forth from thence . when they go forth from thence , then we will enter .
वह लोग कहने लगे कि ऐ मूसा इस मुल्क में तो बड़े ज़बरदस्त लोग रहते हैं और जब तक वह लोग इसमें से निकल न जाएं हम तो उसमें कभी पॉव भी न रखेंगे हॉ अगर वह लोग ख़ुद इसमें से निकल जाएं तो अलबत्ता हम ज़रूर जाएंगे

if we say, 'we will enter into the city,' then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. if we sit still here, we also die. now therefore come, and let us surrender to the army of the syrians. if they save us alive, we will live; and if they kill us, we will only die."
यदि हम कहें, कि नगर में जाएं, तो वहां मर जाएंगे; क्योंकि वहां मंहगी पड़ी है, और जो हम यहीं बैठे रहें, तौभी मर ही जाएंगे। तो आओ हम अराम की सेना में पकड़े जाएं; यदि वे हम को जिलाए रखें तो हम जीवित रहेंगे, और यदि वे हम को मार डालें, तौभी हम को मरना ही है।
