thou art but a warner.

neither you nor your people knew about them before this.

wala hukuwa mkaazi na watu wa madyana ukiwasomea aya zetu.
and you (o muhammad saw) were not a dweller among the people of madyan (midian), reciting our verses to them.

na hakika mimi nilikwisha kuumba wewe zamani na hali hukuwa kitu.
certainly i created you before when you were nothing.’

nawe hukuwa unataraji kuletewa kitabu; lakini ni rehema tu ya mola wako mlezi.
(o prophet), you never looked forward for the book to be revealed to you. it is out of sheer mercy of your lord that it was (revealed to you).

na wewe hukuwa kabla yake unasoma kitabu chochote, wala hukukiandika kwa mkono wako wa kulia.
and you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand.

na hukuwa pamoja nao walipo azimia shauri yao, walipo fanya njama zao wakizua vitimbi.
and you were not with them when they put together their plan while they conspired.

(mwenyezi mungu) akasema: ewe iblisi! una nini hata hukuwa pamoja na walio sujudu?
"how is it, o iblis," said (the lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?"
