૨૦૦૪થી તેમણે 'ગાંધી-કથા'(મહાત્મા ગાંધીના જીવનનાં પ્રસંગોનું વર્ણન) કહેવાની સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં શરૂઆત કરી. ગાંધીજીનું જીવનવૃત્તાંત ચાર ભાગોમાં ૨૦૦૦ પાનાંઓમાં લખાયેલું હતું. ગાંધીજીનું જીવનવૃત્તાંત પૂર્ણ કર્યા પછી તેમણે વિચાર્યું કે બહુ જૂજ લોકો આ પુસ્તક તેના કદ અને ઉંચી કિંમતને કારણે વાંચશે. તેમણે ગાંધીજીનો સંદેશ લોકોમાં પહોંચડાવા માટે નવીન વિચાર રજૂ કર્યો. તેમણે ગાંધી કથાની શરૂઆત કરી. રામાયણ અને ભાગવત કથાની જેમ તેમણે ગાંધી કથા કહી. સાત દિવસના ત્રણ કલાકો સુધી તેમણે ગાંધીજીના જીવન અને વિચારો રજૂ કર્યા. તેમણે કથા દરમિયાન તેમના દ્વારા લખાયેલા ગીતો પણ ગાયા. તેમની કથા પ્રેક્ષકો પર આધારિત રહેતી હતી. કેટલીક કથાઓમાં તેઓ ગાંધીજીની રાજકારણ પ્રવૃત્તિઓ વિશે કહેતા હતા અને અધિકારીને તેઓ ગાંધીજીના નેતૃત્વ સંચાલનના ગુણો વિશે કહેતા હતા. આ કથા દ્વારા લોકોમાં પ્રવર્તતી ગાંધીજી વિશેની કેટલીય ગેરસમજ દૂર થઇ. તેમણે ગાંધીજીના જીવન વિશે કેટલાય અપ્રકાશિત અને ન જાણીતાં પ્રસંગો રજૂ કર્યા હતા. આ કથા ભારત અને વિદેશમાં અત્યંત લોકપ્રિય બની હતી. નોંધવુ જરૂરી છે કે તેમણે કથાની શરૂઆત કરી ત્યારે તેમની વય ૮૧ વર્ષની હતી. તેઓ ૨૩ જુલાઇ ૨૦૦૭ સુધી ગુજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠના કુલપતિ રહ્યા પણ તેમણે પદ પરથી નવેમ્બર ૨૦૧૪માં રાજીનામું આપ્યું.[2]
