the shadows and the light ,
ጨለማዎችና ብርሃንም ፤ ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡

nor the darkness and the light ,
ጨለማዎችና ብርሃንም ፤ ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡

nor are the darknesses and the light ,
ጨለማዎችና ብርሃንም ፤ ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡

nor are the depths of darkness and the light ;
ጨለማዎችና ብርሃንም ፤ ( እንደዚሁ ) ፡ ፡

in him was life; and the life was the light of men.
በእርሱ ሕይወት ነበረች፥ ሕይወትም የሰው ብርሃን ነበረች።

by the night as it conceals ( the light ) ;
በሌሊቱ እምላለሁ ( በጨለማው ) በሚሸፍን ጊዜ ፡ ፡

take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
እንግዲህ በአንተ ያለው ብርሃን ጨለማ እንዳይሆን ተመልከት።

and the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
ብርሃንም በጨለማ ይበራል፥ ጨለማም አላሸነፈውም።

እነዚያ የተጠነቀቁት ከሰይጣን የኾነ ዘዋሪ በነካቸው ጊዜ ( ጌታቸውን ) ይገነዘባሉ ፡ ፡ ወዲያውም እነሱ ተመልካቾች ይኾናሉ ፡ ፡

and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
በፊታቸውም ተለወጠ፥ ፊቱም እንደ ፀሐይ በራ፥ ልብሱም እንደ ብርሃን ነጭ ሆነ።

he is the first , the last , the manifest , and the unseen and he knows all things .
እርሱ ፊትም ያለ ፣ ኋላም ቀሪ ፣ ግልጽም ፣ ስውርም ነው ፡ ፡ እርሱም ነገሩን ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው ፡ ፡

so believe in god , his apostle and the light we have sent down . god is well aware of what you do .
በአላህና በመልክተኛውም ፡ ፡ በዚያም ባወረድነው ብርሃን እመኑ ፡ ፡ « አላህም በምትሠሩት ሁሉ ውስጠ ዐዋቂ ነው » ( በላቸው ) ፡ ፡

so believe in allah and his messenger and the light which we have revealed . and allah is informed of what ye do .
በአላህና በመልክተኛውም ፡ ፡ በዚያም ባወረድነው ብርሃን እመኑ ፡ ፡ « አላህም በምትሠሩት ሁሉ ውስጠ ዐዋቂ ነው » ( በላቸው ) ፡ ፡

but to allah belongs the last ( hereafter ) and the first ( the world ) .
መጨረሻይቱም መጀመሪያይቱም ( ዓለም ) የአላህ ብቻ ናቸው ፡ ፡

believe in allah , and his messenger , and in the light which we have sent down . allah is aware of all that you do .
በአላህና በመልክተኛውም ፡ ፡ በዚያም ባወረድነው ብርሃን እመኑ ፡ ፡ « አላህም በምትሠሩት ሁሉ ውስጠ ዐዋቂ ነው » ( በላቸው ) ፡ ፡

fain would they extinguish the light of allah is with their mouths and allah is going to perfect his light , even though averse may be the infidels .
የአላህን ብርሃን በአፎቻቸው ሊያጠፉ ይሻሉ ፡ ፡ አላህም ከሓዲዎቹ ቢጠሉም እንኳ ብርሃኑን ገላጭ ነው ፡ ፡

all praise unto allah , who created the heavens and the earth and made the darknesses and the light , yet those who disbelieve equalise others with their lord .
ምስጋና ለዚያ ሰማያትንና ምድርን ለፈጠረው ጨለማዎችንና ብርሃንንም ላደረገው ለአላህ የተገባ ነው ፡ ፡ ከዚያም እነዚያ የካዱት ( ጣዖታትን በጌታቸው ) ያስተካክላሉ ፡ ፡

all praise is due to allah , who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light ; yet those who disbelieve set up equals with their lord .
ምስጋና ለዚያ ሰማያትንና ምድርን ለፈጠረው ጨለማዎችንና ብርሃንንም ላደረገው ለአላህ የተገባ ነው ፡ ፡ ከዚያም እነዚያ የካዱት ( ጣዖታትን በጌታቸው ) ያስተካክላሉ ፡ ፡

he it is who sendeth down unto his bondman manifest signs that he may bring you forth from darknesses into the light ; and verily allah is unto you tender , merciful .
እርሱ ከጨለማዎች ወደ ብርሃን ሊያወጣችሁ ያ ግልጾች የኾኑን አንቀጾች በበሪያው ላይ የሚያወርድ ነው ፡ ፡ አላህም ለእናንተ በእርግጥ ርኅሩህ አዛኝ ነው ፡ ፡
