in sooth i know not why i am so
कालिख में मुझे नहीं पता कि मैं ऐसा क्यों हूं

cause ye it not to return , if ye say sooth ?
तो अगर तुम सच्चे हो तो रूह को फेर क्यों नहीं देते

let them bring a discourse like thereunto , if they say sooth .
अच्छा यदि वे सच्चे है तो उन्हें उस जैसी वाणी ले आनी चाहिए

and they say : when will this promise be fufilled if ye say sooth ?
और ये पूछते हैं कि अगर तुम सच्चे हो तो ये वायदा कब पूरा होगा

और कहते हैं कि अगर तुम सच्चे हो तो ये क़यामत का वायदा कब पूरा होगा

nor is it the speech of a sooth - sayer . little are ye admonished .
और न किसी काहिन की बात है तुम लोग तो बहुत कम ग़ौर करते हो

have they associate gods ? then let them produce their associate gods if they say sooth !
या उनके और लोग भी शरीक हैं तो अगर ये लोग सच्चे हैं तो अपने शरीकों को सामने लाएँ

and they say : when we shall have become bones and fragments , shall we in sooth be raised as a new creation ?
और ये लोग कहते हैं कि जब हम हड्डियाँ रह जाएँगें और रेज़ा रेज़ा हो जाएँगें तो क्या नये सिरे से पैदा करके उठा खड़े किए जाएँगें

lest ye should say : the scripture was revealed only to two sects before us , and we in sooth were unaware of what they read ;
यह कह बैठो कि हमसे पहले किताब ख़ुदा तो बस सिर्फ दो ही गिरोहों पर नाज़िल हुई थी अगरचे हम तो उनके पढ़ने से बेखबर थे

this shall be their meed because they disbelieved in our signs and said when we have become bones and fragments , shall we in sooth be raised up a new creation !
ये सज़ा उनकी इस वज़ह से है कि उन लोगों ने हमारी आयतों से इन्कार किया और कहने लगे कि जब हम कर हड्डियाँ और रेज़ा रेज़ा हो जाएँगीं तो क्या फिर हम नये सिरे से पैदा करके उठाए जाएँगें

and he taught adam the names , all of them ; thereafter he set them before the angles , and said declare unto me the names of those if ye say sooth .
उसने आदम को सारे नाम सिखाए , फिर उन्हें फ़रिश्तों के सामने पेश किया और कहा , " अगर तुम सच्चे हो तो मुझे इनके नाम बताओ । "

then they hamstrung the she camel and disdained the commandment of their lord , and said : salih ! bring upon us that wherewith thou hast threatened us if thou art in sooth of the sent ones .
ग़रज़ उन लोगों ने ऊँटनी के कूचें और पैर काट डाले और अपने परवरदिगार के हुक्म से सरताबी की और कहने लगे अगर तुम सच्चे रसूल हो तो जिस से हम लोगों को डराते थे अब लाओ

say they : he hath fabricated it ! say thou : then bring ye a surah like thereunto , and call whomsoever ye can beside allah , if ye say sooth .
या वे कहते है , " इस व्यक्ति ने उसे स्वयं ही घड़ लिया है ? " कहो , " यदि तुम सच्चे हो , तो इस जैसी एक सुरा ले आओ और अल्लाह से हटकर उसे बुला लो , जिसपर तुम्हारा बस चले । "

or say they : he hath fabricated it ? say thou : bring ye then ten surahs the like thereunto fabricated , and call whomsoever ye can beside allah , if ye say sooth .
तुम्हें उनका ख्याल न करना चाहिए और ख़ुदा हर चीज़ का ज़िम्मेदार है क्या ये लोग कहते हैं कि उस शख़्श ने इस को अपनी तरफ से गढ़ लिया है तो तुम कह दो कि अगर तुम सच्चे हो तो ऐसे दस सूरे अपनी तरफ से गढ़ के ले आओं

every foods was allowable unto the children of isra ' il , save that which isra ' il had forbidden unto himself , ere the taurat was revealed . say thou : bring ye then the taurat and recite it , if ye say sooth .
