ושדה מגרש עריהם לא ימכר כי אחזת עולם הוא להם׃
but the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

ואת כל עריהם במושבתם ואת כל טירתם שרפו באש׃
and they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.

על כן הכם אריה מיער זאב ערבות ישדדם נמר שקד על עריהם כל היוצא מהנה יטרף כי רבו פשעיהם עצמו משבותיהם׃

ויראו כל איש ישראל אשר בעמק כי נסו וכי מתו שאול ובניו ויעזבו עריהם וינסו ויבאו פלשתים וישבו בהם׃
and when all the men of israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the philistines came and dwelt in them.

ואשר ישמיעו ויעבירו קול בכל עריהם ובירושלם לאמר צאו ההר והביאו עלי זית ועלי עץ שמן ועלי הדס ועלי תמרים ועלי עץ עבת לעשת סכת ככתוב׃
and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in jerusalem, saying, go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.
