and when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with james and john.
mi slan i waya, ɛecṛa n inelmaden nniḍen rfan ɣef yeɛqub akk-d yuḥenna.

and he spake that saying openly. and peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
yenna-yasen-d ayagi ɛinani. buṭrus ijbed-it weḥd-es, ilumm fell-as.

yewwi yid-es buṭrus, yeɛqub akk-d yuḥenna. yetḥeyyeṛ, tekcem-it tugdi.

and they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, is it i? and another said, is it i?
yeɣli-d leḥzen fell-asen, bdan steqsayen-t yiwen yiwen qqaṛen-as : a sidi, neɣ mačči d nekk ?

and he departed, and began to publish in decapolis how great things jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
iṛuḥ, yebda yețberriḥ di ɛecṛa n temdinin-nni ayen akk i s-yexdem sidna Ɛisa. kra win i s-yeslan yetɛeǧǧeb.

and as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
mi geffeɣ sidna Ɛisa, lɛulama n ccariɛa d ifariziyen ḥeṛsen-t iwakken a d-immeslay ɣef waṭas n tɣawsiwin nniḍen,

and he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
sidna Ɛisa yessawel i tnac-nni inelmaden, iceggeɛ-iten sin sin, yefka yasen tazmert ad ssufɣen iṛuḥaniyen.

and as they departed, jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning john, what went ye out into the wilderness to see? a reed shaken with the wind?
mi ṛuḥen inelmaden-is, sidna Ɛisa yebda iheddeṛ i lɣaci ɣef yeḥya : d acu i tṛuḥem a t-id-teẓrem deg unezṛuf ? d aɣanim yețhuzzu waḍu ?

and he began to teach them, that the son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
sidna Ɛisa yebda yesselmad-iten yeqqaṛ : mmi-s n bunadem ilaq ad yenɛețțab aṭas ; a t-nekkṛen lecyux d lmuqedmin imeqqranen akk-d lɛulama n ccariɛa. a t-nɣen, m'ara ɛeddin tlata wussan, a d-iḥyu si ger lmegtin.

and jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
mi d-yers si teflukt, iwala ayendin n lɣaci ; dɣa ɣaḍen-t imi cban taqeḍɛit n wulli ur nesɛi ameksa. yebda yesselmad-iten deg waṭas n lecɣal.

and he began to speak unto them by parables. a certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
sidna Ɛisa yebda ițmeslay-asen s lemtul : yiwen wergaz yeẓẓa tafeṛṛant, izeṛṛeb-iț, yeɣza amkan i tɛeṣṣart n tẓurin yerna yebna taxxamt n tɛessast. issekra-ț i ixemmasen n tfeṛṛant imiren iṛuḥ ad yinig.
