atau siapakah yang memulakan kejadian sekalian makhluk, kemudian dia mengembalikannya (hidup semula sesudah matinya). dan siapakah yang memberi rezeki kepada kamu dari langit dan bumi?

say, "he who brought them into being in the first instance will give them life again: he has knowledge of every type of creation:
katakanlah: "tulang-tulang yang hancur itu akan dihidupkan oleh tuhan yang telah menciptakannya pada awal mula wujudnya; dan ia maha mengetahui akan segala keadaan makhluk-makhluk (yang diciptakannya);

ask them: 'is there any among those whom you associate with allah in his divinity who brings about the creation of all beings in the first instance and will then repeat it?'
bertanyalah (kepada mereka wahai muhammad): "adakah di antara makhluk-makhluk yang kamu sekutukan dengan tuhan itu, sesiapa yang mula menciptakan sesuatu kejadian kemudian ia mengembalikan adanya semula (pada hari kiamat)?

aye! by thy lord, they shall not believe until they have made thee judge of that which is disputed among them, and then find no vexation in their hearts with that which thou hast decreed, and they submit with full submission.
maka demi tuhanmu (wahai muhammad)! mereka tidak disifatkan beriman sehingga mereka menjadikan engkau hakim dalam mana-mana perselisihan yang timbul di antara mereka, kemudian mereka pula tidak merasa di hati mereka sesuatu keberatan dari apa yang telah engkau hukumkan, dan mereka menerima keputusan itu dengan sepenuhnya.

but nay, by thy lord, they will not believe (in truth) until they make thee judge of what is in dispute between them and find within themselves no dislike of that which thou decidest, and submit with full submission.
maka demi tuhanmu (wahai muhammad)! mereka tidak disifatkan beriman sehingga mereka menjadikan engkau hakim dalam mana-mana perselisihan yang timbul di antara mereka, kemudian mereka pula tidak merasa di hati mereka sesuatu keberatan dari apa yang telah engkau hukumkan, dan mereka menerima keputusan itu dengan sepenuhnya.

(and allah will say): 'now you have come to us all alone even as we had created you in the first instance, and you have left behind all that we had bestowed upon you in the world. we do not see with you your intercessors whom you imagined to have a share with allah in your affairs.
dan demi sesungguhnya, kamu tetap datang kepada kami (pada hari kiamat) dengan bersendirian, sebagaimana kami jadikan kamu pada mulanya; dan kamu tinggalkan di belakang kamu apa yang telah kami kurniakan kepada kamu; dan kami tidak melihat beserta kamu penolong-penolong yang kamu anggap dan sifatkan bahawa mereka ialah sekutu-sekutu allah dalam kalangan kamu.
