and some of them have made covenant with god: 'if he gives us of his bounty, we will make offerings and be of the righteous.'
அவர்களில் சிலர், "அல்லாஹ் தன் அருட்கொடையிலிருந்து நமக்கு(ச் செல்வத்தை) அளித்ததால் மெய்யாகவே நாம் (தாராளமான தான) தர்மங்கள் செய்து, நல்லடியார்களாகவும் ஆகிவிடுவோம்" என்று அல்லாஹ்விடம் வாக்குறுதி செய்தார்கள்.

and some of them there are that believe, and some of them that bar from it; gehenna suffices for a blaze!
(அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களில் சிலர் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டார்கள்;. சிலர் தங்கள் முகங்களை அதைவிட்டும் திருப்பிக் கொண்டார்கள்;. (இவ்வாறு முகந் திருப்பிக் கொண்டோருக்கு) கொழுந்து விட்டு எரியும் நரகமே போதுமானது.
