so jacob went down into egypt, and died, he, and our fathers,
ያዕቆብም ወደ ግብፅ ወረደ እርሱም ሞተ አባቶቻችንም፤

ያዕቆብም በግብፅ እህል መኖሩን በሰማ ጊዜ በመጀመሪያ አባቶቻችንን ሰደዳቸው፤

የአባቶችም አለቆች በዮሴፍ ቀንተው ወደ ግብፅ ሸጡት፤ እግዚአብሔርም ከእርሱ ጋር ነበረ፥

ሰምተው ያስመረሩት እነማን ነበሩ? በሙሴ ተመርተው ከግብጽ የወጡ ሁሉ አይደሉምን?

to whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into egypt,
ለእርሱም አባቶቻችን ሊታዘዙት አልወደዱም፤ ነገር ግን ገፉት በልባቸውም ወደ ግብፅ ተመለሱ፤

so he resolved to turn them out of the land ( of egypt ) . but we drowned him and all who were with him .
ከምድርም ሊቀሰቅሳቸው አሰበ ፡ ፡ እርሱንና ከእርሱ ጋር የነበሩትንም ሰዎች ሁሉንም አሰጠምናቸው ፡ ፡

and joseph 's brothers came to egypt and presented themselves before him . he recognized them , but they did not know him .
የዩሱፍ ወንድሞችም መጡ ፡ ፡ በእርሱም ላይ ገቡ ፡ ፡ እነሱም እርሱን የሳቱት ሲሆኑ ዐወቃቸው ፡ ፡

and when they came in before joseph , he took his parents unto him , and said : come into egypt safe , if allah will !
በዩሱፍ ላይም በገቡ ጊዜ ወላጆቹን ወደርሱ አስጠጋቸው ፡ ፡ « በአላህም ፈቃድ ጥብቆች ስትኾኑ ምስርን ግቡ » አላቸው ፡ ፡

the god of this people of israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
የዚህ የእስራኤል ሕዝብ አምላክ አባቶቻችንን መርጦ በግብፅ አገር በእንግድነት ሳሉ ሕዝቡን ከፍ ከፍ አደረጋቸው፥ ከፍ ባለችውም ክንዱ ከዚያ አወጣቸው።

and said firaun , “ o my people ! is not the kingdom of egypt for me , and these rivers that flow beneath me ?
ፈርዖንም በሕዝቦቹ ውስጥ ተጣራ ፡ ፡ አለም ፤ « ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! የምስር ግዛት የኔ አይደለምን ? እነዚህም ጅረቶች ከስሬ የሚፈሱ ሲኾኑ ( የኔ አይደሉምን ? ) አትመለከቱምን ?

and we revealed to musa and his brother , saying : take for your people houses to abide in egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers .
ወደ ሙሳና ወደ ወንድሙ ፡ - « ለሕዝቦቻችሁ በምስር ቤቶችን ሥሩ ፡ ፡ ቤቶቻችሁንም መስገጃ አድርጉ ፡ ፡ ሶላትንም በደንቡ ስገዱ ፡ ፡ ( ለሙሳ ) ምእምናኖቹንም አብስር » ስንል ላክን ፡ ፡

and pharaoh caused a proclamation to be made among his people saying : o my people ! is not mine the sovereignty of egypt and these rivers flowing under me ?
ፈርዖንም በሕዝቦቹ ውስጥ ተጣራ ፡ ፡ አለም ፤ « ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! የምስር ግዛት የኔ አይደለምን ? እነዚህም ጅረቶች ከስሬ የሚፈሱ ሲኾኑ ( የኔ አይደሉምን ? ) አትመለከቱምን ?

and pharaoh proclaimed to his people , saying , ‘ o my people ! do not the kingdom of egypt and these rivers that run at my feet belong to me ?
ፈርዖንም በሕዝቦቹ ውስጥ ተጣራ ፡ ፡ አለም ፤ « ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! የምስር ግዛት የኔ አይደለምን ? እነዚህም ጅረቶች ከስሬ የሚፈሱ ሲኾኑ ( የኔ አይደሉምን ? ) አትመለከቱምን ?

and the pharaoh said to his people : " o people , is not mine the kingdom of egypt and these rivers that flow at my feet ? can you still not comprehend ?
ፈርዖንም በሕዝቦቹ ውስጥ ተጣራ ፡ ፡ አለም ፤ « ሕዝቦቼ ሆይ ! የምስር ግዛት የኔ አይደለምን ? እነዚህም ጅረቶች ከስሬ የሚፈሱ ሲኾኑ ( የኔ አይደሉምን ? ) አትመለከቱምን ?

( this is the interpretation of your dreams ) : one of you will serve wine to his lord ( the king of egypt ) . as for the other , he will be crucified and birds will eat of his head .
« የወህኒ ቤት ጓደኞቼ ሆይ ! አንደኛችሁማ ጌታውን ( ንጉሡን ) ጠጅ ያጠጣል ፡ ፡ ሌላውማ ይሰቀላል ፡ ፡ ከራሱም በራሪ ( አሞራ ) ትበላለች ፡ ፡ ያ ፍቹን የምትጠይቁት ነገር ተፈጸመ ፤ » ( አላቸው ) ፡ ፡
