i am sleeping
በጣም ዘግይቼ እተኛለሁ

o you the ( sleeping ) enwrapped one !
አንተ ተከናናቢው ሆይ ፡ ፡

sleeping little in the night-time ,
ከሌሊቱ ጥቂትን ብቻ ይተኙ ነበሩ ፡ ፡

lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
ድንገት መጥቶ ተኝታችሁ እንዳያገኛችሁ ስለዚህ ትጉ።

they were in the habit of sleeping but little by night ,
ከሌሊቱ ጥቂትን ብቻ ይተኙ ነበሩ ፡ ፡

then a visitation from thy lord visited it , while they were sleeping ,
እነርሱ የተኙ ኾነውም ሳሉ ከጌታህ የኾነ ዟሪ በእርሷ ላይ ዞረባት ፡ ፡

then there encompassed it a visitation from your lord while they were sleeping .
እነርሱ የተኙ ኾነውም ሳሉ ከጌታህ የኾነ ዟሪ በእርሷ ላይ ዞረባት ፡ ፡

so an envoy from your lord completed his round upon the garden , whilst they were sleeping .
እነርሱ የተኙ ኾነውም ሳሉ ከጌታህ የኾነ ዟሪ በእርሷ ላይ ዞረባት ፡ ፡

and when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
ከጸሎትም ተነሥቶ ወደ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ መጣና ከኀዘን የተነሣ ተኝተው ሲያገኛቸው።

and how many cities have we destroyed , and our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon .
ከከተማም ልናጠፋት የሻነው ወዲያውም ብርቱ ቅጣታችን ሌሊት ወይም ቀን እነርሱ በቀትር አርፈው ሳሉ የመጣባቸው ብዙ ናቸው ፡ ፡

and many a township did we destroy – so our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon .
ከከተማም ልናጠፋት የሻነው ወዲያውም ብርቱ ቅጣታችን ሌሊት ወይም ቀን እነርሱ በቀትር አርፈው ሳሉ የመጣባቸው ብዙ ናቸው ፡ ፡

and of his signs are your sleeping by night and by day , and your seeking of his grace verily herein are signs for a people who hearken .
በሌሊትና በቀንም መተኛታችሁ ፣ ከችሮታውም መፈለጋችሁ ከምልክቶቹ ነው ፡ ፡ በዚህ ውስጥ ለሚሰሙ ሕዝቦች ተዓምራቶች አልሉበት ፡ ፡

and among his signs is your sleeping during the night and day , and your seeking his munificence ; indeed in this are signs for people who heed .
በሌሊትና በቀንም መተኛታችሁ ፣ ከችሮታውም መፈለጋችሁ ከምልክቶቹ ነው ፡ ፡ በዚህ ውስጥ ለሚሰሙ ሕዝቦች ተዓምራቶች አልሉበት ፡ ፡

your sleeping during the night and in the day your seeking his favors are evidence ( of the truth ) for the people who have hearing .
በሌሊትና በቀንም መተኛታችሁ ፣ ከችሮታውም መፈለጋችሁ ከምልክቶቹ ነው ፡ ፡ በዚህ ውስጥ ለሚሰሙ ሕዝቦች ተዓምራቶች አልሉበት ፡ ፡

no sunlight could reach them during their sleep in the cave . one could see the rising sun decline to the right of their cave and the setting sun move its way to the left whilst they were sleeping in an opening of the cave .
ፀሐይንም በወጣች ጊዜ ከዋሻቸው ወደ ቀኝ ጎን ስታዘነብል ታያታለህ ፡ ፡ በገባችም ጊዜ እነርሱ ከእርሱ በሰፊው ስፍራ ውስጥ ኾነው ሳሉ ወደ ግራ በኩል ትተዋቸዋለች ፡ ፡ ይህ ከአላህ ተዓምራቶች ነው ፡ ፡ አላህ የሚያቀናው ሰው ቅኑ እርሱ ብቻ ነው ፡ ፡ የሚያጠመውም ሰው ለርሱ አቅኝን ረዳት አታገኝለትም ፡ ፡

and when herod would have brought him forth, the same night peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
ሄሮድስም ሊያወጣው ባሰበ ጊዜ፥ በዚያች ሌሊት ጴጥሮስ በሁለት ሰንሰለት ታስሮ ከሁለት ወታደሮች መካከል ተኝቶ ነበር፤ ጠባቂዎችም በደጁ ፊት ሆነው ወኅኒውን ይጠብቁ ነበር።

and one of his signs is your sleeping and your seeking of his grace by night and ( by ) day ; most surely there are signs in this for a people who would hear .
በሌሊትና በቀንም መተኛታችሁ ፣ ከችሮታውም መፈለጋችሁ ከምልክቶቹ ነው ፡ ፡ በዚህ ውስጥ ለሚሰሙ ሕዝቦች ተዓምራቶች አልሉበት ፡ ፡

one would think them ( the youths ) awake while , in fact , they were sleeping . we turned their bodies from right to left and their dog stretched its front legs on the ground .
እነሱም የተኙ ሆነው ሳሉ ( ዓይኖቻቸው በመከፈታቸው ) ንቁዎች ናቸው ብለህ ታስባቸዋለህ ፡ ፡ ወደ ቀኝ ጎንና ወደ ግራ ጎንም እናገላብጣቸዋለን ፡ ፡ ውሻቸውም ሁለት ክንዶቹን በዋሻው በር ላይ ዘርግቷል ፡ ፡ በእነሱ ላይ ዘልቀህ ብታይ ኖሮ የምትሸሽ ኾነህ በዞርክ ነበር ፡ ፡ ከእነሱም በእርግጥ ፍርሃትን በተመላህ ነበር ፡ ፡

and a great number of towns ( their population ) we destroyed ( for their crimes ) . our torment came upon them ( suddenly ) by night or while they were sleeping for their afternoon rest .
