हां , इतना अवश्य है कि विज्ञानमय पुरुष चेतना के विषय में मूल एव सनातन एकत्व की अधिक प्रत्यक्ष निकटता की स्थिति से कुछ दूर , किन्तु सदा अपने अनन्द ही रखने तथा उसे पुनः एक और ढंग से जानने में आनन्द लेता है जिसे कि वह उसके साथ परस्पर - क्रिया के नानाविध सम्बन्ध स्थापित कर सके जो कि चेतना की लीला की समस्वरता में इतने सारे गौण स्वर तार होते हैं ।

but the gnosis sees the thing in itself first , penetrates to its original and eternal nature , adjoins its processes and properties only as a self - expression of its nature .
परन्तु विज्ञान सबसे पहले वस्तु को उसके शुद्ध रूप में देखता है , उसके मूल और नित्य स्वरूप की तह में जाता है , उसकी प्रक्रियाओं और गुणों को उसके स्वरूप की अभिव्यक्ति के रूप में ही उसके साथ संयुक्त करता है ।

it is true that the consciousness of the absolute is the highest reach of the yoga of knowledge and that the possession of the divine is its first , greatest and most ardent object and that to neglect it for an inferior knowledge is to afflict our yoga with inferiority or even frivolity and to miss or fall away from its characteristic object ; but , the divine in itself being known , the yoga of knowledge may well embrace also the knowledge of the divine in its relations with ourselves and the world on the different planes of our existence .
यह सच है कि निरपेक्ष ब्रह्म की चेतना प्राप्त करना ज्ञानयोग की पराकाष्ठा है और भगवान् की प्राप्ति उसका पहला , सबसे महान् तथा उत्कट ध्येय है और किसी निम्न ज्ञान के लिये इस लक्ष्य की उपेक्षा करने का अर्थ है हमारे पूर्ण ४६८ योग - समन्वय योग को हीनता या यहांतक कि क्षुद्रता से ग्रस्त करना और उसके विशिष्ट लक्ष्य से भ्रष्ट होना या दूर रहना , परन्तु भगवान् का निज स्वरूप ज्ञात हो जाने पर ज्ञानयोग हमारी सत्ता के विभिन्न स्तरों पर हमारे साथ तथा जगत् के साथ नानाविध सम्बन्ध रखनेवाले भगवान् का ज्ञान भी भली - भांति प्राप्त कर सकता है ।
