this is because thy lord destroyeth not the townships arbitrarily while their people are unconscious (of the wrong they do).
(اے محمدﷺ!) یہ (جو پیغمبر آتے رہے اور کتابیں نازل ہوتی رہیں تو) اس لیے کہ تمہارا پروردگار ایسا نہیں کہ بستیوں کو ظلم سے ہلاک کر دے اور وہاں کے رہنے والوں کو (کچھ بھی) خبر نہ ہو

it is for the poor refugees who were driven from their homes and possessions, desiring the favour and the pleasure of god and supporting god and his messenger. such people are the truthful.
(اور) ان مفلسان تارک الوطن کے لئے بھی جو اپنے گھروں اور مالوں سے خارج (اور جدا) کر دیئے گئے ہیں (اور) خدا کے فضل اور اس کی خوشنودی کے طلبگار اور خدا اور اس کے پیغمبر کے مددگار ہیں۔ یہی لوگ سچے (ایماندار) ہیں

decorated for people are the desires of women, offspring, and of heaped up piles of gold and silver, of pedigree horses, cattle, and sown fields. these are the enjoyments of the worldly life, but with allah is the best return.
لوگوں کو ان کی خواہشوں کی چیزیں یعنی عورتیں اور بیٹے اور سونے اور چاندی کے بڑے بڑے ڈھیر اور نشان لگے ہوئے گھوڑے اور مویشی اور کھیتی بڑی زینت دار معلوم ہوتی ہیں (مگر) یہ سب دنیا ہی کی زندگی کے سامان ہیں اور خدا کے پاس بہت اچھا ٹھکانا ہے

the poor immigrants who were deprived of their homes and property, who seek favors and pleasures from god, and help him and his messenger will also have (a share in the said property). these people are the truthful ones.
(اور) ان مفلسان تارک الوطن کے لئے بھی جو اپنے گھروں اور مالوں سے خارج (اور جدا) کر دیئے گئے ہیں (اور) خدا کے فضل اور اس کی خوشنودی کے طلبگار اور خدا اور اس کے پیغمبر کے مددگار ہیں۔ یہی لوگ سچے (ایماندار) ہیں

the devil hath engrossed them and so hath caused them to forget remembrance of allah. they are the devil's party. lo! is it not the devil's party who will be the losers?
ان پر شیطان غالب آگیا تو انہیں اللہ کی یاد بھلا دی، وہ شیطان کے گروہ ہیں، سنتا ہے بیشک شیطان ہی کا گروہ ہار میں ہے

wherefore did they not bring four witnesses thereof? then when they brought not the witnesses, those! with allah they are the liars.
اس پر چار گواہ کیوں نہ لائے، تو جب گواہ نہ لائے تو وہی اللہ کے نزدیک جھوٹے ہیں،

he is god -- the creator, the originator, the giver of form. his are the most excellent names. everything in the heavens and earth declares his glory. he is the mighty, the wise one.
وہ اللہ ہی ہے جو تخلیق کا منصوبہ بنانے والا اور اس کو نافذ کرنے والا اور اس کے مطابق صورت گری کرنے والا ہے اس کے لیے بہترین نام ہیں ہر چیز جو آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے اُس کی تسبیح کر رہی ہے، اور وہ زبردست اور حکیم ہے

he said, “my lord, forgive me, and grant me a kingdom never to be attained by anyone after me. you are the giver.”
(اور) دعا کی کہ اے پروردگار مجھے مغفرت کر اور مجھ کو ایسی بادشاہی عطا کر کہ میرے بعد کسی کو شایاں نہ ہو۔ بےشک تو بڑا عطا فرمانے والا ہے
