அல்லது வேதனையைக் கண்ட சமயத்தில், "(உலகத்திற்கு) நான் மீண்டு செல்ல வழி உண்டாகுமாயின், (அழகிய) நன்மை செய்வோரில் ஒருவனாக நானும் ஆகிவிடுவேன்!" என்று கூறாமல் இருப்பதற்காகவும்;

(நியாயத் தீர்ப்புக்குரிய) வேளை ஏற்படும் என்றும் நான் எண்ணவில்லை. (அப்படி ஏதும் நிகழ்ந்து) நான் என் இறைவனிடம் மீண்டும் கொண்டு செல்லப்படுவேனாயின், நிச்சயமாக இங்கிருப்பதைவிட மேலான இடத்தையே நான் காண்பேன்" என்றும் கூறினான்.

i am commanded only that i should serve the lord of this city, who has made it sacred, and his are all things; and i am commanded that i should be of these who submit;
"இந்த ஊரை எவன் கண்ணியப் படுத்தியுள்ளானோ அந்த இறைவனை வணங்குமாறு நான் கட்டளையிடப் பட்டுள்ளேன். எல்லாப் பொருட்களும் அவனுக்கே உரியன அன்றியும் அவனுக்கே முற்றிலும் வழிபட்டவானக இருக்கும்படியும் நாhன் ஏவப்பட்டுள்ளேன்" (என்று நபியே! நீர் கூறுவீராக).

he said: my lord! i seek refuge in thee from asking thee that of which i have no knowledge; and if thou shouldst not forgive me and have mercy on me, i should be of the losers.
"என் இறைவா! எனக்கு எதை பற்றி ஞானம் இல்லையோ அதை உன்னிடத்திலே கேட்பதை விட்டும் உன்னிடம் நான் பாதுகாப்பு தேடுகிறேன்; நீ என்னை மன்னித்து எனக்கு அருள் புரியவில்லையானால் நஷ்ட மடைந்தோரில் நான் ஆகிவிடுவேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

இன்னும் (இதையும் நினைவு கூறுங்கள்;) மூஸா தம் சமூகத்தாரிடம், "நீங்கள் ஒரு பசுமாட்டை அறுக்க வேண்டும் என்று நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறான்" என்று சொன்னபோது, அவர்கள்; "(மூஸாவே!) எங்களை பரிகாசத்திற்கு ஆளாக்குகின்றீரா?" என்று கூறினர்; (அப்பொழுது) அவர், "(அப்படிப் பரிகசிக்கும்) அறிவீனர்களில் ஒருவனாக நான் ஆகிவிடாமல் அல்லாஹ்விடம் பாதுகாப்புத் தேடுகிறேன்" என்று கூறினார்.

allah does not forbid you from those who did not fight against you because of religion and did not drive you out from your homes, that you should be kind towards them and deal with them fairly; indeed the equitable are the beloved of allah.
