i say the truth, and call the moon to witness,
(ஸகர் என்னும் நரகு நிராகரிப்போர் கூறுவது போல்) அல்ல, இன்னும் சந்திரன் மீது சத்தியமாக.

he said, “the truth is, and i say the truth.
(அதற்கு இறைவன்;) "அது உண்மை உண்மையையே நான் கூறுகிறேன் என்று இறைவன் கூறினான்.

but they can never have a longing for death because of what they have done. god knows the unjust well.
ஆனால், அவர்கள் கரங்கள் செய்த (பாவங்களை) அவர்கள் முன்னமேயே அனுப்பி வைத்திருந்த காரணத்தால் அவர்கள் மரணத்தை விரும்பவே மாட்டார்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அந்த அக்கிரமக்காரர்களை நன்கு அறிந்தவனாகவே இருக்கிறான்.

say: the truth hath come, and falsehood showeth not its face and will not return.
கூறுவீராக "சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை."

say: the truth has come, and the falsehood shall vanish and shall not come back.
கூறுவீராக "சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை."

verily we have brought the truth to you: but most of you have a hatred for truth.
நிச்சயமாக, நாம் உங்களிடம் சத்தியத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்தோம்; ஆனால் உங்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் சத்தியத்தை வெறுக்கிறவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள் (என்றும் கூறப்படும்).

say, "the truth has come. falsehood has vanished and it will not come back again".
கூறுவீராக "சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை."

say, “the truth has come; while falsehood can neither originate, nor regenerate.”
கூறுவீராக "சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை."

say, ‘the truth has come, and falsehood neither originates nor restores [anything].’
கூறுவீராக "சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை."

and say, ‘the truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. indeed falsehood is bound to vanish.’
(நபியே!) இன்னும், "சத்தியம் வந்தது அசத்தியம் அழிந்தது. நிச்சயமாக அசத்தியமானது அழிந்து போவதேயாகும்' என்று கூறுவீராக.

and say, “the truth has come, and falsehood has withered away; for falsehood is bound to wither away.”
(நபியே!) இன்னும், "சத்தியம் வந்தது அசத்தியம் அழிந்தது. நிச்சயமாக அசத்தியமானது அழிந்து போவதேயாகும்' என்று கூறுவீராக.

and say: 'the truth has come, and falsehood has vanished away; surely falsehood is ever certain to vanish.'
(நபியே!) இன்னும், "சத்தியம் வந்தது அசத்தியம் அழிந்தது. நிச்சயமாக அசத்தியமானது அழிந்து போவதேயாகும்' என்று கூறுவீராக.

say, "the truth has come, and falsehood can neither begin [anything] nor repeat [it]."
கூறுவீராக "சத்தியம் வந்து விட்டது - அன்றியும் பொய் எதையும் புதிதாகச் செய்வதுமில்லை இனிச்செய்யப் போவதுமில்லை."

(muhammad, the essence of) the truth is from your lord. never have any doubt about it.
(நபியே! ஈஸாவைப் பற்றி) உம் இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்ததே உண்மையாகும்;. எனவே (இதைக் குறித்து) ஐயப்படுவோரில் நீரும் ஒருவராகிடாதீர்.

those who are bent on denying the truth will have a severe punishment, while those who believe and do good deeds will have forgiveness and a great reward.
எவர்கள் (சத்தியத்தை) நிராகரிக்கிறார்களோ, அவர்களுக்குக் கடினமான வேதனையுண்டு; ஆனால் எவர்கள் ஈமான் கொண்டு ஸாரிஹான (நல்ல) அமல்களை செய்கிறார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பும், மிகப் பெரும் நற்கூலியுமுண்டு.

and anyone who does not have the means must fast for two consecutive months before they touch each other, and who is not able to do that must feed sixty needy people. that is to affirm your faith in god and his messenger. these are the limits set by god. those who deny the truth shall have a painful punishment.
ஆனால் (அடிமையை விடுதலை செய்ய வசதி) எவர் பெறவில்லையோ, அவர், அவ்விருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் தீண்டுவதற்கு முன் இரண்டு மாதங்கள் தொடர்ச்சியாக நோன்பு நோற்க வேண்டும்; எவர் இதற்கும் சக்தி பெறவில்லையோ, அவர் அறுபது ஏழைகளுக்கு உணவு அளித்தல் - வேண்டும், நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் மீதும் அவனுடைய தூதர் மீதும் விசுவாசம் கொள்வதற்காக (இவ்வாறு கட்டளையிடப்பட்டுள்ளது). மேலும் இவை அல்லாஹ் விதிக்கும் வரம்புகளாகும், அன்றியும், காஃபிர்களுக்கு நோவினை செய்யும் வேதனை உண்டு.

to him is your return. this is allah's promise that will certainly come true. surely it is he who brings about the creation of all and he will repeat it so that he may justly reward those who believe and do righteous deeds; and that those who disbelieve may have a draught of boiling water and suffer a painful chastisement for their denying the truth.
நீங்கள் அனைவரும் அவனிடமே மீண்டு செல்ல வேண்டியிருக்கிறது; அல்லாஹ்வின் வாக்குறுதி மெய்யானது - நிச்சயமாக அவன்தான் முதல் முறையாகப் படைத்தவன்; ஈமான் கொண்டு நேர்மையான முறையில் நற்கருமங்கள் செய்தவர்களுக்கு கூலி வழங்குவதற்காக படைப்பினங்களை மீ; ண்டும் உயிர்ப்பிப்பான். யார் நிராகரித்து விட்டார்களோ அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் நிராகரித்த காரணத்தினால் கொதிக்கும் நீரும் நோவினைத் தரும் வேதனையும் உண்டு.

no intercession availeth with him save for him whom he permitteth. yet, when fear is banished from their hearts, they say: what was it that your lord said? they say: the truth. and he is the sublime, the great.
அன்றியும், அவன் எவருக்கு அனுமதி கொடுக்கிறானோ அவருக்குத் தவிர, அவனிடத்தில் எந்த பரிந்துரையும் பயனளிக்காது எனவே (நியாய விசாரணைக்கு நிற்கும்) அவர்களின் இருதயங்களிலிருந்து திடுக்கம் நீக்கப்படுமானால் "உங்கள் இறைவன் என்ன கூறினான்" என்று கேட்பார்கள். "உண்மையானதையே! மேலும், அவனே மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன் மகாப்பெரியவன்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

and intercession will not avail aught with him save of him whom he permits. until when fear shall be removed from their hearts, they shall say: what is it that your lord said? they shall say: the truth. and he is the most high, the great.
அன்றியும், அவன் எவருக்கு அனுமதி கொடுக்கிறானோ அவருக்குத் தவிர, அவனிடத்தில் எந்த பரிந்துரையும் பயனளிக்காது எனவே (நியாய விசாரணைக்கு நிற்கும்) அவர்களின் இருதயங்களிலிருந்து திடுக்கம் நீக்கப்படுமானால் "உங்கள் இறைவன் என்ன கூறினான்" என்று கேட்பார்கள். "உண்மையானதையே! மேலும், அவனே மிக்க உயர்ந்தவன் மகாப்பெரியவன்" என்று கூறுவார்கள்.
