یہ لوگ تم سے روح کے متعلق پوچھتے ہیں کہو "یہ روح میرے رب کے حکم سے آتی ہے، مگر تم لوگوں نے علم سے کم ہی بہرہ پایا ہے"
and they ask thee regarding the spirit, say thou: the spirit is by the command of my lord, and ye have not been vouchsafed of knowledge save a little.

اور بادشاہ نے کہا میں نے خواب میں دیکھیں سات گائیں فربہ کہ انہیں سات دُبلی گائیں کھارہی ہیں اور سات بالیں ہری اور دوسری سات سوکھی اے درباریو! میرے خواب کا جواب دو اگر تمہیں خواب کی تعبیر آتی ہو،
(one day) the king said (to his courtiers): "i saw seven fat cows in a dream being devoured by seven lean ones, and seven ears of corn that were green and seven others that were seared. o courtiers, tell me the significance of my dream, if you know how to interpret them."

یا (ان کے اعمال کی مثال ایسی ہے) جیسے دریائے عمیق میں اندھیرے جس پر لہر چڑھی چلی آتی ہو اور اس کے اوپر اور لہر (آرہی ہو) اور اس کے اوپر بادل ہو، غرض اندھیرے ہی اندھیرے ہوں، ایک پر ایک (چھایا ہوا) جب اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو کچھ نہ دیکھ سکے۔ اور جس کو خدا روشنی نہ دے اس کو (کہیں بھی) روشنی نہیں (مل سکتی)
or (the unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom allah giveth not light, there is no light!
