l'invention concerne un joint d'expansion (1) pour un dispositif de serrage situé au niveau d'un espace entre deux parties d'édifice devant recevoir un enduit de finition de construction recouvert d'une feuille couvre-plancher. ce joint d'expansion comprend au moins un élément de bord (2, 3) à fixer à une des parties d'édifice opposées au niveau de l'espace, et possède une bride supérieure présentant une surface à mortaiser avec l'enduit de finition de construction (7) et recouvert d'une feuille couvre-plancher, et une ouverture longitudinale faisant face de l'autre coté de l'espace, cette ouverture étant définie à un bord distal de la bride supérieure; un élément d'entretoisement (11) s'étendant à partir de l'ouverture et entretoisant l'espace, cet élément d'entretoisement étant conçu pour se mouvoir à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de l'ouverture selon que l'espace se contracte ou s'élargit; un élément allongé de butée (17) de feuille couvre-plancher, en prise avec la bride supérieure au niveau de l'ouverture, et possédant un élément supérieur (21) recouvrant une partie de bord de la bride supérieure de son élément de bord et formant une butée (25) pour la feuille couvre-pancher; un élément inférieur posé sous ladite partie de bord de la bride supérieure et séparant cette dernière de l'élément d'entretoisement en prise avec l'ouverture et l'armature (23) reliant les éléments supérieur et inférieur le long du bord distal de la bride supérieure.
