Know the rules before entering the dipping pool. Do not dive; else, you will never look at the fish in a bowl of hot tinola the same way again.

Tagalog

One of the nicest things about the dipping pool is that it is surrounded by massive trees like a protective wall. Thus, bathers will feel as if they are taking a hot dip in the middle of the jungle. A carefully manicured garden surrounds the pool, creating a visual feast of color and life.

OVERVIEW LYRICS LISTEN OTHER RECORDINGS PEOPLE ALSO SEARCH FOR Written in these walls are the stories that I can't explain I leave my heart open but it stays right here empty for days She told me in the morning She don't feel the same about us in her bones It seems to me that when I die These words will be written on my stone And I'll be gone, gone tonight The ground beneath my feet is open wide The way that I been holdin' on too tight With nothing in between The story of my life, I take her home I drive all night to keep her warm and time Is frozen (the story of, the story of, the story of) The story of my life, I give her hope I spend her love until she's broke inside The story of my life (the story of, the story of) Written on these walls are The colors that I can't change Leave my heart open But it stays right here in its cage I know that in the morning now I see us in the light upon a hill Although I am broken, my heart is untamed, still And I'll be gone, gone tonight The fire beneath my feet is burning bright The way that I've been holdin' on so tight With nothing in between The story of my life, I'll take her home I drive all night to keep her warm and time Is frozen (the story of, the story of) The story of my life, I give her hope I spend her love until she's broke inside The story of my life (the story of, the story of) And I've been waiting for this time to come around But, baby, running after you is like chasing the clouds The story of my life I take her home I drive all night To keep her warm and time Is frozen The story of my life, I give her hope (give her hope) I spend her love until she's broken inside The story of my life (the story of, the story of) The story of my life The story of my life (the story of, the story of) The story of my life

If you find yourself in love with someone who doesn’t love you, be gentle with yourself. There’s nothing wrong with you, love just didn’t choose to rest in the other person’s heart. If you find someone else in love with you and you don’t love him/her, feel honored that love came and called at your door, but gently refused the gift that you can’t return. Don’t take advantage, don’t cause pain. How you deal with love is how you deal with you and all your hearts feel the same pai

The 3 idiots This is the story of Farhan, Raju and Rancho who are engineering students at the Imperial College of Engineering, one of the best colleges in India. Farhan wants to become a wildlife photographer, but is pursuing an engineering degree to fulfil his father's wish, whereas Raju needs to improve his family's financial situation, and Rancho studies for the pleasure of building machines. Rancho incurs the wrath of college's dean, Professor Viru Sahastrabuddhe a.k.a. 'Virus' (Boman Irani), by giving creative and unorthodox answers, and later blames the rote-learning mentality of the institution for the suicide of fellow student Joy Lobo. The three friends break into Virus' house so Rancho can propose his own marriage to Pia, and then urinate on a door inside the compound. The next day, Virus threatens to expel Raju, who, unable to choose between betraying his friend and disappointing his family, attempts his own death. Virus vows to make the course's final exam as hard as possible so that Raju is unable to graduate. Pia, in reply, tells Rancho of the exam, and he and Farhan steal the examination's questions for Raju who refuses to cheat. Virus sentences them to expulsion; but they earn a reprieve when Viru's pregnant elder daughter Mona (Mona Singh) goes into labour at the same time. A heavy storm cuts electricity, and Pia instructs Rancho to deliver the baby in the college common room via Voice over IP, after Rancho restores power using car batteries and a power inverter invented by Rancho. After the baby is apparently stillborn, Rancho resuscitates it; wherefore Virus allows them to take and pass their final exams. Rancho comes first and is awarded Virus's prize pen, retained hitherto for an especially-capable student. rancho went missing after their graduation. Farhan and Raju race to locate Rancho, at his last known address - little knowing the secret that was kept from them all this time.

It's a mess of trouble, Sometimes hooked, sometimes right, Blind is the same, it seems confused Sometimes it's a pain of frustration. But if it is true, pure and great, Madarama is the beginning of the beginning, In the middle is the nsmile and the ed is joy, If you love to be faithful and fit.

Ngunit kung tunay nga, wagas at dakila, Madarama nama’y kilig sa simula, Sa gitna ay ngiti at dulo’y may tuwa, Kung magmamahal ka ng tapat at akma.

Business Letters What this handout is about This handout will help you write business letters required in many different situations, from applying for a job to requesting or delivering information. While the examples that are discussed specifically are the application letter and cover letter, this handout also highlights strategies for effective business writing in general. Principles to keep in mind Business writing is different Writing for a business audience is usually quite different than writing in the humanities, social sciences, or other academic disciplines. Business writing strives to be crisp and succinct rather than evocative or creative; it stresses specificity and accuracy. This distinction does not make business writing superior or inferior to other styles. Rather, it reflects the unique purpose and considerations involved when writing in a business context. When you write a business document, you must assume that your audience has limited time in which to read it and is likely to skim. Your readers have an interest in what you say insofar as it affects their working world. They want to know the “bottom line”: the point you are making about a situation or problem and how they should respond. Business writing varies from the conversational style often found in email messages to the more formal, legalistic style found in contracts. A style between these two extremes is appropriate for the majority of memos, emails, and letters. Writing that is too formal can alienate readers, and an attempt to be overly casual may come across as insincere or unprofessional. In business writing, as in all writing, you must know your audience. In most cases, the business letter will be the first impression that you make on someone. Though business writing has become less formal over time, you should still take great care that your letter’s content is clear and that you have proofread it carefully. Pronouns and active versus passive voice Personal pronouns (like I, we, and you) are important in letters and memos. In such documents, it is perfectly appropriate to refer to yourself as I and to the reader as you. Be careful, however, when you use the pronoun we in a business letter that is written on company stationery, since it commits your company to what you have written. When stating your opinion, use I; when presenting company policy, use we. The best writers strive to achieve a style that is so clear that their messages cannot be misunderstood. One way to achieve a clear style is to minimize your use of the passive voice. Although the passive voice is sometimes necessary, often it not only makes your writing dull but also can be ambiguous or overly impersonal. Here’s an example of the same point stated in passive voice and in the active voice: PASSIVE: The net benefits of subsidiary divestiture were grossly overestimated. [Who did the overestimating?] ACTIVE: The Global Finance Team grossly overestimated the net benefits of subsidiary divestiture. The second version is clearer and thus preferable. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. What if you are the head of the Global Finance Team? You may want to get your message across without calling excessive attention to the fact that the error was your team’s fault. The passive voice allows you to gloss over an unflattering point—but you should use it sparingly. Focus and specificity Business writing should be clear and concise. Take care, however, that your document does not turn out as an endless series of short, choppy sentences. Keep in mind also that “concise” does not have to mean “blunt”—you still need to think about your tone and the audience for whom you are writing. Consider the following examples: After carefully reviewing this proposal, we have decided to prioritize other projects this quarter. Nobody liked your project idea, so we are not going to give you any funding. The first version is a weaker statement, emphasizing facts not directly relevant to its point. The second version provides the information in a simple and direct manner. But you don’t need to be an expert on style to know that the first phrasing is diplomatic and respectful (even though it’s less concise) as compared with the second version, which is unnecessarily harsh and likely to provoke a negative reaction. Business letters: where to begin Reread the description of your task (for example, the advertisement of a job opening, instructions for a proposal submission, or assignment prompt for a course). Think about your purpose and what requirements are mentioned or implied in the description of the task. List these requirements. This list can serve as an outline to govern your writing and help you stay focused, so try to make it thorough. Next, identify qualifications, attributes, objectives, or answers that match the requirements you have just listed. Strive to be exact and specific, avoiding vagueness, ambiguity, and platitudes. If there are industry- or field-specific concepts or terminology that are relevant to the task at hand, use them in a manner that will convey your competence and experience. Avoid any language that your audience may not understand. Your finished piece of writing should indicate how you meet the requirements you’ve listed and answer any questions raised in the description or prompt. Application letters and cover letters Many people believe that application letters and cover letters are essentially the same. For purposes of this handout, though, these kinds of letters are different. The letter of application is a sales letter in which you market your skills, abilities, and knowledge. A cover letter, on the other hand, is primarily a document of transmittal. It identifies an item being sent, the person to whom it is being sent, and the reason for its being sent, and provides a permanent record of the transmittal for both the writer and the reader. Application letters When writing an application letter, remember that you probably have competition. Your audience is a professional who screens and hires job applicants—someone who may look through dozens or even hundreds of other applications on the day she receives yours. The immediate objective of your application letter and accompanying resume is to attract this person’s attention. Your ultimate goal is to obtain an interview. As you write your application letter, be sure you complete three tasks: catch the reader’s attention favorably, convince the reader that you are a qualified candidate for the job, and request an interview. Application letter checklist: Identify the job by title and let the recipient know how you heard about it. Summarize your qualifications for the job, specifically your work experience, activities that show your leadership skills, and your educational background. Refer the reader to your enclosed resume. Ask for an interview, stating where you can be reached and when you will be available. If your prospective employer is located in another city and you plan to visit the area, mention the dates for your trip. If you are applying for a specific job, include any information pertinent to the position that is not included in your resume. To save your reader time and to call attention to your strengths as a candidate, state your objective directly at the beginning of the letter. Example: I am seeking a position as a manager in your Data Center. In such a management position, I can use my master’s degree in information systems and my experience as a programmer/analyst to address business challenges in data processing. If you have been referred to a company by one of its employees, a career counselor, a professor, or someone else, mention that before stating your job objective. Example: During the recent ARRGH convention in Washington, D.C., one of your sales representatives, Dusty Brown, informed me of a possible opening for a manager in your Data Center. My extensive background in programming and my master’s degree in information systems make me highly qualified for the position. In subsequent paragraphs, expand on the qualifications you mentioned in your opening. Add any appropriate details, highlighting experience listed on your resume that is especially pertinent to the job you are seeking. Close with a request for an interview. Proofread your letter carefully. Two sample letters of application are presented below. The first letter (Sample #1) is by a recent college graduate responding to a local newspaper article about the company’s plan to build a new computer center. The writer is not applying for a specific job opening but describes the position he seeks. The second letter (Sample #2) is from a college senior who does not specify where she learned of the opening because she is uncertain whether a position is available. Sample #1 6123 Farrington Road Apt. B11 Chapel Hill, NC 27514 January 11, 2005 Taylor, Inc. 694 Rockstar Lane Durham, NC 27708 Dear Human Resources Director: I just read an article in the News and Observer about Taylor’s new computer center just north of Durham. Since September 2000, I have been participating, through the University, in the Professional Training Program at Computer Systems International in Raleigh. In the program I was assigned to several staff sections as an apprentice. Most recently, I have been a programmer trainee in the Engineering Department and have gained a great deal of experience in computer applications. Details of the academic courses I have taken are included in the enclosed resume. If there is a position open at Taylor Inc., please let me know whom I should contact for further information. I look forward to hearing from you soon. I may be reached at my office (919-866-4000 ext. 232) or via email (Brock@aol.com). Sincerely,

Amders expected the same of baard. They bid in turn, each trying the other out ,and as they looked hard at each other. When the watch had gone up to twenty dollars ,Baard began to feel that this was not kind of his brother, and bid over him until he almost reached thirty. When Anders did not withdraw even then,Baard felt that anders no longer remembered hoe good he had often been to him and that he was furthermore the elder of the two :and the watch went over thirty.Anders still kept on .Baard then raised the price to forty dollars with one bound ,and no longer looked at his brother. It grew very still in the auction room:only the bailiff repeated the figures quietly.Anders thought,as he stood there, that if baard could he and afford to go to forty dollars,so could he and if baard begrudged him the watch .he might as well take it, and bid over him. This to baard seemed the greatest disgrace that had ever befallen him;and bid fifty dollars in a low voice. There were many people there, and Anders said to himself taht he would not let his brotjer mock him before them all,and again raised the bid .Baard burst out laughing.

The King of Argos-Acrisius received a dreadful oracle. It has been said that no son shall be born to him but you shall have a grandson and by his hand you shall die. In fear of the oracle the King locked up his maiden daughter Danae in house of bronze all sunk underground but he forgot to take the gods into account. So when Zeus beheld the beautiful Danae looking up the sky he turned himself in a shower of gold and barged into her room. Not long after Danae bore a son which she hid from the King but the King eventually found out. In fear of the god’s wrath he threw both Danae and her child in a chest into the sea. Dictys found the chest which held both Danae and her child. When Perseus had grown into a fine young man, Danae’s beauty never changed so it wasn’t a shock that King Polydectes, the brother of Dictys fell in love with her. King Polydectes hated Perseus for the attention Danae was giving him so thought of sending the naiive Perseus to behead the gorgon Medusa for he knew it was an impossible task. Perseus as naiive as he can be played right into the cruel King’s plan. Perseus was successful in cutting off Medusa’s head on his way back he saw a beautiful maiden about to be sacrificed to the sea serpent, her name was Andromeda. Perseus used the gorgon’s head to defeat the sea serpent. He then took Andromeda as his wife. Next he killed Phineas the man who tried to steal his wife. After that he went back to King Polydectes to show that he had indeed slain Medusa. But the King taunted Perseus, so Perseus made the King into stone. Not long after Perseus, his mother and wife sailed back to Argos for Danae had missed her father. When they arrived the King was not around and at the same time he heard that there were games being held so he want there and joined. When it was his turn to throw the discus, it swayed and killed an old man in the audiences, it was King Acrisius. -The values in this story is that we should be brave enough to face the challenges in our life. Goodness will always win and the evil will always be vanquished.
