en al gaan hulle as gevangenes voor hulle vyande uit, ek sal van daar die swaard ontbied om hulle dood te maak; en ek sal my oog op hulle rig ten kwade en nie ten goede nie.
and though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will i command the sword, and it shall slay them: and i will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

en al steek hulle hul weg op die top van karmel, ek sal hulle daar opspoor en weghaal; en al verberg hulle hul voor my oë op die bodem van die see, ek sal van daar die slang ontbied om hulle te byt.
and though they hide themselves in the top of carmel, i will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will i command the serpent, and he shall bite them:

pe. sion brei haar hande uit, sy het geen trooster nie; die here het die wat rondom hom was, teen jakob ontbied as sy teëstanders; jerusalem het in hul midde 'n voorwerp van afsku geword.
zion spreadeth forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the lord hath commanded concerning jacob, that his adversaries should be round about him: jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.
