Երկրի վրայ անձրեւ թափուեց քառասուն օր ու քառասուն գիշեր:
and the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Եւ քառասուն օր ու քառասուն գիշեր ծոմ պահեց, ապա քաղց զգաց:
and when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

Իսկ նա պատառը վերցնելով՝ իսկոյն դուրս ելաւ: Եւ գիշեր էր...
he then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

Ընծաներն ուղարկուեցին իրենից առաջ, իսկ ինքն այդ գիշեր քնեց այդտեղ՝ Բանակատեղիում:
so went the present over before him: and himself lodged that night in the company.

Այդ գիշեր թող ուտեն կրակի վրայ խորոված միսը, այն թող ուտեն բաղարջ հացով ու դառն խոտերով:
and they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Մովսէսը մտաւ ամպի մէջ ու բարձրացաւ լեռը: Մովսէսը լերան վրայ մնաց քառասուն օր ու քառասուն գիշեր:
and moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

Եւ նա այդ գիշեր քնեց այդտեղ: Նա բերածներից իր ձեռքով, իբրեւ ընծայ, իր եղբայր Եսաւին ուղարկեց
and he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for esau his brother;

Եօթը օր յետոյ ես քառասուն օր ու քառասուն գիշեր անձրեւ պիտի թափեմ երկրի վրայ եւ երկրի երեսից պիտի ջնջեմ իմ ստեղծած ամէն մի էակ»:
for yet seven days, and i will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that i have made will i destroy from off the face of the earth.

Այդ գիշեր էլ գինի խմեցրին իրենց հօրը, եւ կրտսերը պառկեց իր հօր հետ: Ղովտը չիմացաւ նրա պառկելն ու վեր կենալը:
and they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

Երկրի վրայ քառասուն օր ու քառասուն գիշեր ջրհեղեղ եղաւ: Յորդացաւ ջուրն ու բարձրացրեց տապանը, եւ տապանը կտրուեց գետնից:
and the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

Ամէն ծառ, որ բարի պտուղ չի տալիս, կտրւում եւ կրակն է նետւում:
every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Այսպէս, ամէն բարի ծառ բարի պտուղ է տալիս, եւ չար ծառ չար պտուղ է տալիս:
even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Մովսէսը Տիրոջ հետ էր քառասուն օր ու քառասուն գիշեր: Նա հաց չկերաւ, ջուր չխմեց եւ տախտակների վրայ գրի առաւ ուխտի խօսքերը՝ տասը պատուիրանները:
and he was there with the lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. and he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Բարի մարդը իր սրտի բարի գանձերից հանում է բարի բաներ, իսկ չար մարդը իր սրտի չար գանձերից հանում է չար բաներ:
a good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
