Աբրամի հետ գնացող Ղովտը նոյնպէս ունէր արջառներ, ոչխարներ, անասուններ,
and lot also, which went with abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

Աբրահամն առաւ արջառներ ու ոչխարներ, տուեց Աբիմելէքին, եւ երկուսն իրար հետ հաշտութիւն կնքեցին:
and abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.

Այսպիսով Յակոբը չափազանց շատ հարստացաւ. նա ունեցաւ շատ ոչխարներ ու արջառներ, ծառաներ ու աղախիններ, ուղտեր ու էշեր:
and the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.

Եւ տաճարի մէջ գտաւ նրանց, որ վաճառում էին արջառներ, ոչխարներ եւ աղաւնիներ, ինչպէս նաեւ՝ լումայափոխներ, որ նստած էին:
and found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

Ես ունեմ նաեւ այլ ոչխարներ, որոնք այս փարախից չեն. նրանց եւս պէտք է այստեղ բերեմ. եւ իմ ձայնը պիտի լսեն. եւ պիտի լինի մի հօտ եւ մի հովիւ:
and other sheep i have, which are not of this fold: them also i must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Ունեցայ արջառներ, ոչխարներ, էշեր, ծառաներ ու աղախիններ: Հիմա մարդ եմ ուղարկում իմ տէր Եսաւին՝ խնդրելու, որ քո ծառան շնորհ գտնի քո առաջ»:
and i have oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants, and womenservants: and i have sent to tell my lord, that i may find grace in thy sight.

«Ահա ես ձեզ ուղարկում եմ որպէս ոչխարներ՝ գայլերի մէջ: Այսուհետեւ խորագէ՛տ եղէք օձերի պէս եւ միամիտ՝ աղաւնիների նման:
behold, i send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

«Եթէ մէկը արջառ կամ ոչխար գողանայ, մորթի կամ վաճառի այն, ապա մէկ արջառի փոխարէն հինգ արջառ թող հատուցի, իսկ մէկ ոչխարի փոխարէն՝ չորս ոչխար:
if a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
