और यदि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा उस शपथ के अनुसार जो उस ने तेरे पूर्वजों से खाई थी तेरे सिवानों को बढ़ाकर वह सारा देश तुझे दे, जिसके देने का वचन उस ने तेरे पूर्वजों को दिया था
and if the lord thy god enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

इसलिये हियाव बान्धकर दृढ़ हो जा; क्योंकि जिस देश के देने की शपथ मैं ने इन लोगों के पूर्वजों से खाई थी उसका अधिकारी तू इन्हें करेगा।
"be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which i swore to their fathers to give them.

और हम को वह वहां से निकाल लाया, इसलिये कि हमें इस देश में पहुंचाकर, जिसके विषय में उस ने हमारे पूर्वजों से शपथ खाई थी, इसको हमें सौंप दे।
and he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

और इस्राएलियों ने उनको न मारा, क्योंकि मण्डली के प्रधानों ने उनके संग इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की शपथ खाई थी। तब सारी मण्डली के लोग प्रधानों के विरूद्ध कुड़कुड़ाने लगे।
and the children of israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the lord god of israel. and all the congregation murmured against the princes.

और उन दिनों के याजक के पास जाकर यह कहना, कि मैं आज तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा के साम्हने निवेदन करता हूं, कि यहोवा ने हम लोगों को जिस देश के देने की हमारे पूर्वजों से शपथ खाई थी उस में मैं आ गया हूं।
and thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, i profess this day unto the lord thy god, that i am come unto the country which the lord sware unto our fathers for to give us.

और कोई सत्यानाश की वस्तु तेरे हाथ न लगने पाए; जिस से यहोवा अपने भड़के हुए कोप से शान्त होकर जैसा उस ने तेरे पूर्वजों से शपथ खाई थी वैसा ही तुझ से दया का व्यवहार करे, और दया करके तुझ को गिनती में बढ़ाए।
and there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;

उन्होंने अल्लाह की कड़ी - कड़ी क़समें खाई थी कि यदि उनके पास कोई सचेतकर्ता आए तो वे समुदायों में से प्रत्येक से बढ़कर सीधे मार्ग पर होंगे । किन्तु जब उनके पास एक सचेतकर्ता आ गया तो इस चीज़ ने धरती में उनके घमंड और बुरी चालों के कारण उनकी नफ़रत ही में अभिवृद्धि की ,
and they swore by allah their most binding oath , that if a warner came to them , they would be more guided than any of the nations , yet when a warner came to them , it increased in them nothing but flight ,

इसलिये अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रेम करो, और उसकी बात मानों, और उस से लिपटे रहो; क्योंकि तेरा जीवन और दीर्घ जीवन यही है, और ऐसा करने से जिस देश को यहोवा ने इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब, तेरे पूर्वजों को देने की शपथ खाई थी उस देश में तू बसा रहेगा।।
that thou mayest love the lord thy god, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the lord sware unto thy fathers, to abraham, to isaac, and to jacob, to give them.
