duta press release: 24 june 2020 *victory for students and teachers as ugc committee recommends cancellation of examinations for final year students* the duta welcomes the reported recommendation of the ugc committee headed by prof. kuhad to cancel examinations for final year students. it also welcomes the minister of hrd, shri ramesh pokriyal nishank's advisory to the ugc to revisit the guidelines for examinations and academic calendar. the duta has been opposing delhi university's decision to hold obe as it is discriminatory towards a large section of students and erodes the sanctity of the examination process. the duta's position stands vindicated with this announcement and is a victory of the collective efforts of students and teachers who have been protesting against the obe. the duta hopes that good sense will now prevail on the du vice-chancellor and urges him to cancel the obe without any delay as future of more than 4 lakh students is at stake. moreover, students ought not to be put to any further uncertainty and trauma in the current context. rajib ray, president rajinder singh, secretary
