ye hypocrites, well did esaias prophesy of you, saying,

dixit itaque esaias ezechiae audi sermonem domin
and isaiah said unto hezekiah, hear the word of the lord.

haec dixit esaias quando vidit gloriam eius et locutus est de e
these things said esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

ait ego vox clamantis in deserto dirigite viam domini sicut dixit esaias prophet
he said, i am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the lord, as said the prophet esaias.

et antequam egrederetur esaias mediam partem atrii factus est sermo domini ad eum dicen
and it came to pass, afore isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the lord came to him, saying,

oraverunt igitur ezechias rex et esaias filius amos prophetes adversum hanc blasphemiam ac vociferati sunt usque in caelu
and for this cause hezekiah the king, and the prophet isaiah the son of amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

et sicut praedixit esaias nisi dominus sabaoth reliquisset nobis semen sicut sodoma facti essemus et sicut gomorra similes fuissemu
and as esaias said before, except the lord of sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as sodoma, and been made like unto gomorrha.

at ille respondens dixit eis bene prophetavit esaias de vobis hypocritis sicut scriptum est populus hic labiis me honorat cor autem eorum longe est a m
he answered and said unto them, well hath esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, this people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

cui ait esaias hoc erit signum a domino quod facturus sit dominus sermonem quem locutus est vis ut accedat umbra decem lineis an ut revertatur totidem gradibu
and isaiah said, this sign shalt thou have of the lord, that the lord will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forth ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

in diebus illis aegrotavit ezechias usque ad mortem et venit ad eum esaias filius amos prophetes dixitque ei haec dicit dominus deus praecipe domui tuae morieris enim et non vive
in those days was hezekiah sick unto death. and the prophet isaiah the son of amoz came to him, and said unto him, thus saith the lord, set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
