and [by] the earth which cracks open,

på dig er jeg kastet fra mors liv; fra min mors skjød er du min gud.
be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

kom i hu, herre, dine tjeneres vanære, at jeg må bære alle de mange folk i mitt skjød,
wherewith thine enemies have reproached, o lord; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

det er ikke tillatt for dem å skjule det gud har skapt i deres skjød, om de tror på gud og på dommens dag.
and it is not lawful for them that they should conceal that which allah hath created in their wombs if they are believers in allah and the last day.

for likesom jonas var tre dager og tre netter i fiskens buk, således skal menneskesønnen være tre dager og tre netter i jordens skjød.
for as jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

ditt folk møter villig frem på ditt veldes dag; i hellig prydelse kommer din ungdom til dig, som dugg ut av morgenrødens skjød.
thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

fraskilte kvinner skal avvente tre perioder. det er ikke tillatt for dem å skjule det gud har skapt i deres skjød, om de tror på gud og på dommens dag.
and divorced women shall wait (as regards their marriage) for three menstrual periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what allah has created in their wombs, if they believe in allah and the last day.

til dig har jeg støttet mig fra mors liv av; du er den som drog mig ut av min mors skjød; om dig vil jeg alltid synge min lovsang.
by thee have i been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

før jeg dannet dig i mors liv, kjente jeg dig, og før du kom ut av mors skjød, helliget jeg dig; jeg satte dig til en profet for folkene.
before i formed thee in the belly i knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb i sanctified thee, and i ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

det er ikke tillatt for dem å skjule det gud har skapt i deres skjød, om de tror på gud og på dommens dag. deres menn har full rett til å ta dem tilbake i denne tiden om de ønsker forsoning.
and divorced women shall restrain themselves for three menstrual periods; and it is not lawful for them to conceal what allah has created in their wombs if they believe in allah and the last day; and their husbands have the right to take them back, during this time, if they desire reconciliation; and the women also have rights similar to those of men over them, in accordance with islamic law – and men have superiority over them; and allah is almighty, wise.

og herren sa til henne: i ditt liv er det to folk, og fra ditt skjød skal to folkeslag skille sig at; det ene folk skal være sterkere enn det andre, og den eldste skal tjene den yngste.
and the lord said unto her, two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

en gang sa imrans hustru: «min herre, jeg lover deg det som er i mitt skjød, som helliget deg, så motta dette fra meg. du er den hørende, den allvitende.»
(remember) when the wife of 'imran said: my lord! i have vowed unto thee that which is in my belly as a consecrated (offering). accept it from me. lo! thou, only thou, art the hearer, the knower!
