og gud sa: det vrimle av liv i vannet, og fugler flyve over jorden under himmelhvelvingen!
and god said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

and the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs:

alle de dyr som er hos dig, alt kjød, både fuglene og feet og alt krypet som rører sig på jorden, skal du føre ut med dig, og de skal vrimle på jorden og være fruktbare og bli mange på jorden.
bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

i himlenes og jordens skapelse, i vekslingen av natt og dag, i skipet som seiler på havet med det som er til menneskers nytte, i vannet som gud sender ned fra oven, hvorved han gir liv til jorden etter dens dvale og lar den vrimle av allslags dyr, i vindens veksling og de drivende skyers tjeneste mellom himmel og jord – i alt dette er jærtegn for mennesker som forstår.
(if they want a sign for the perception of this reality) surety there are countless signs for those who use their common sense; they can see alternation of the night and day, in the ships that sail the ocean laden with cargoes beneficial to mankind, and in the rain-water which allah sends down from the sky and thereby gives life to the earth after its death and spreads over it all kinds of animate creatures, in the blowing of the winds and in the clouds which obediently wait for orders between the sky and the earth.
