kaa wewe na mkeo katika bustani, na kuleni humo maridhawa popote mpendapo, lakini msiukaribie mti huu tu; mkawa katika wale walio dhulumu.
dwell thou and thy wife in the garden, and eat ye freely (of the fruits) thereof where ye will; but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong-doers.

na tulipo sema: ingieni mji huu, na humo mle mpendapo maridhawa, na ingieni katika mlango wake kwa unyenyekevu, na semeni: tusamehe!
and [recall] when we said, "enter this city and eat from it wherever you will in [ease and] abundance, and enter the gate bowing humbly and say, 'relieve us of our burdens.'

na tulisema: ewe adam! kaa wewe na mkeo katika bustani, na kuleni humo maridhawa popote mpendapo, lakini msiukaribie mti huu tu; mkawa katika wale walio dhulumu.
and we said to adam: "both you and your spouse live in the garden, eat freely to your fill wherever you like, but approach not this tree or you will become transgressors.

na tulipo sema: ingieni mji huu, na humo mle mpendapo maridhawa, na ingieni katika mlango wake kwa unyenyekevu, na semeni: tusamehe! tutakusameheni makosa yenu, na tutawazidishia wema wafanyao wema.
and recall what time we said: enter this town and eat plenteously therefrom as ye list, and enter the gate prostrating yourselves and say: forgiveness; we shall forgive you your trespasses, and anon we shall increase unto the well-doers.
