tunapo usoma, basi nawe fuatiliza kusoma kwake.
and so when we recite it, follow its recitation attentively;

na mwanaadamu tunapo mneemesha hugeuka na kujitenga kando.
and when we bestow our grace on man (the disbeliever), he turns away and becomes arrogant, far away from the right path.

na mwanaadamu tunapo mneemesha hugeuka na kujitenga kando. na inapo mgusa shari hukata tamaa.
and when we bestow favor on man, he turns aside and behaves proudly, and when evil afflicts him, he is despairing.

na tunapo waonjesha watu rehema baada ya shida waliyo ipata, utawaona wana vitimbi kuzipangia ishara zetu.
and when we cause mankind to taste of mercy after some adversity which had afflicted them, behold! they have some plot against our revelations.

na katika ishara zake ni kwamba unaiona ardhi nyonge, lakini tunapo iteremshia maji mara unaiona inataharaki na kuumuka.
among his signs, is that you see the earth desolate; but when we send down water upon it, it stirs and swells.

na watu tunapo waonjesha rehema huifurahia, na ukiwasibu uovu kwa iliyo yatanguliza mikono yao wenyewe, mara wanakata tamaa.
and when we cause mankind to taste of mercy they exult thereat; then if an evil befalleth them because of that which their hands have sent forth, lo! they despair.

kisha tunapo mpa neema zitokazo kwetu, husema: nimepewa haya kwa sababu ya ilimu yangu. sio!
but then, when we favor him with a blessing from us, he says, “i have attained this by virtue of my knowledge.”

na unaiona ardhi imetulia kimya, lakini tunapo yateremsha maji juu yake husisimka na kututumka, na kumea kila namna ya mimea mizuri.
and thou (muhammad) seest the earth barren, but when we send down water thereon, it doth thrill and swell and put forth every lovely kind (of growth).

na tunapo badilisha ishara pahala pa ishara nyengine, na mwenyezi mungu anajua anayo teremsha, wao husema: wewe ni mzushi.
and when we change (one) communication for (another) communication, and allah knows best what he reveals, they say: you are only a forger.

na dhara inapo mgusa mtu hutuomba. kisha tunapo mpa neema zitokazo kwetu, husema: nimepewa haya kwa sababu ya ilimu yangu.
so when some hardship reaches man, he prays to us; then later when we bestow a favour upon him, he says, “i obtained this only because of some knowledge”; in fact it is a test, but most of them do not have any knowledge.
