even if they were to seek favors, they would receive none.

na kabla ya alfajiri wakiomba maghfira.
and asked for forgiveness in the early morning.

basi wakisubiri moto ndio maskani yao. na wakiomba radhi hawakubaliwi.
and though they are resigned, yet the fire is still their home; and if they ask for favour, yet they are not of those unto whom favour can be shown.

na wakiomba msaada watasaidiwa kwa kupewa maji kama mafuta yaliyo tibuka. yatayo wababua nyuso zao.
and if they ask for help (relief, water, etc.) they will be granted water like boiling oil, that will scald their faces.

hakika sisi tumewaandalia wenye kudhulumu moto ambao utawazunguka kama khema. na wakiomba msaada watasaidiwa kwa kupewa maji kama mafuta yaliyo tibuka.
and proclaim, “the truth is from your lord”; so whoever wills may accept faith, and whoever wills may disbelieve – we have indeed prepared for the disbelievers a fire the walls of which will surround them; if they plead for water, their plea will be answered with water like molten metal which shall scald their faces; what an evil drink it is; and what an evil destination is hell!

lakini wakiomba msaada kwenu katika dini, basi ni juu yenu kuwasaidia, isipo kuwa juu ya watu ambao yapo mapatano baina yenu na wao.
and if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help, except against a people between yourselves and whom is a treaty.

miili mingi ya maiti bado imelazwa katika mitaa, wakimbizi wakiomba chakula, juhudi za kuokoa hazifikii visiwa vingine mbali ya mikoa ya visayas.
many dead bodies are still lying in the streets, refugees are begging for food, and rescue efforts are not reaching other remote islands of typhoon-ravaged provinces in the visayas.

lakini wakiomba msaada kwenu katika dini, basi ni juu yenu kuwasaidia, isipo kuwa juu ya watu ambao yapo mapatano baina yenu na wao. na mwenyezi mungu anayaona mnayo yatenda.
and as to those who believed but did not emigrate (to you o muhammad saw), you owe no duty of protection to them until they emigrate, but if they seek your help in religion, it is your duty to help them except against a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, and allah is the all-seer of what you do.

na wale walio amini lakini hawakuhama, nyinyi hamna waajibu wa ulinzi kwao hata kidogo mpaka wahame. lakini wakiomba msaada kwenu katika dini, basi ni juu yenu kuwasaidia, isipo kuwa juu ya watu ambao yapo mapatano baina yenu na wao.
and those who believed but did not leave their homes, ye have no duty to protect them till they leave their homes; but if they seek help from you in the matter of religion then it is your duty to help (them) except against a folk between whom and you there is a treaty.
