and could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

and it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of god, he stood by the lake of gennesaret,

and at midnight paul and silas prayed, and sang praises unto god: and the prisoners heard them.

and i knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by i said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

saxal ci di leen fàttali mbir yooyu, di leen dénk fa kanam yàlla, ñu moytoo werante ciy araf, ndax loolu jëmul fu dul ci yàq ngëmu ñiy déglu.
of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

nun jot nanu xebaar bu baax bi ni ñoom, waaye kàddu, ga ñu déggoon, jariñu leen dara, ndaxte boolewuñu ci ngëm, ba ñu koy déglu.
for unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

and when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, we will hear thee again of this matter.
