that they would desire mercies of the god of heaven concerning this secret; that daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of babylon.

ke kaloku beziziswe kum izilumko nabakhwitsi, ukuze balese lo mbhalo, bandazise ukutyhilwa kwawo; ke azibanga nako ukundixelela ukutyhilwa kwale nto.
and now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:

ngokuba isilumko kunye nesinyabi asinakukhunjulwa kungunaphakade, ekubeni kusiza iimini ezoba sezilityelwe zonke ezo nto. kutheni na, ukuba zife izilumko kunye nezinyabi?
for there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. and how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

uthixo usuke wanyula izinto ezibubudenge zehlabathi, ukuze azidanise izilumko; nezinto ezingenamandla zehlabathi usuke uthixo wazinyula, ukuze azidanise izinto ezomeleleyo;
but god hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and god hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

elo phupha ndilibonile, mna kumkani nebhukadenetsare. wena ke, bheletshatsare, lityhile ke, ngenxa enokuba zonke izilumko zobukumkani bam zingenako ukundazisa ukutyhilwa kwalo ube ke wena unako, ngokuba unomoya woothixo abangcwele.
this dream i king nebuchadnezzar have seen. now thou, o belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

therefore daniel went in unto arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of babylon: he went and said thus unto him; destroy not the wise men of babylon: bring me in before the king, and i will shew unto the king the interpretation.
