ubawo wethu osemazulwini, libhalwe igama lakho
our father who art in heaven haloed be thy name

ngoko yibani ngabafezekileyo, njengokuba uyihlo osemazulwini efezekile.
be ye therefore perfect, even as your father which is in heaven is perfect.

kwangokunjalo asikukuthanda kukayihlo osemazulwini, ukuba kulahleke namnye waba bancinane.
even so it is not the will of your father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

kuba xa nithi nibaxolele abantu iziphoso zabo, uyihlo osemazulwini wonixolela nani.
for if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you:

ke, ukuba anixoleli nina, naye uyihlo osemazulwini akasayi kunixolela iziphoso zenu.
but if ye do not forgive, neither will your father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

thandazani ngoko nina nenjenje: bawo wethu osemazulwini, malingcwaliswe igama lakho.
after this manner therefore pray ye: our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

osukuba ke eya kundikhanyela phambi kwabantu, ndiya kumkhanyela nam phambi kobawo osemazulwini.
but whosoever shall deny me before men, him will i also deny before my father which is in heaven.

wonke umntu ngoko oya kundivuma phambi kwabantu, ndiya kumvuma nam phambi kobawo osemazulwini.
whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will i confess also before my father which is in heaven.

naxa sukuba nimi nithandaza, ukuba ninendawo ngakothile, mxoleleni, ukuze noyihlo osemazulwini anixolele iziphoso zenu.
and when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

malukhanye ngokunjalo ukhanyiselo lwenu phambi kwabantu; ukuze bayibone imisebenzi yenu emihle, bamzukise uyihlo osemazulwini.
let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.

lumkani, ubulungisa benu ningabenzeli ebusweni babantu, ngokunga ningabonwa ngabo; okanye, aninamvuzo kuyihlo osemazulwini.
take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your father which is in heaven.

asingabo bonke abathi kum, nkosi, nkosi, abaya kungena ebukumkanini bamazulu; ngokwenzayo ukuthanda kukabawo osemazulwini.
not every one that saith unto me, lord, lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven.

ukuze nibe ngabantwana boyihlo osemazulwini; ngokuba ilanga lakhe elenza liphume phezu kwabakhohlakeleyo nabalungileyo; nemvula eyinisa phezu kwabalungisayo nabangalungisiyo.
that ye may be the children of your father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

ukuba ngoko nina, nikhohlakele nje, niyakwazi ukubapha abantwana benu izipho ezilungileyo, wobeka phi na yena uyihlo osemazulwini ukugqithisela ngokubapha okulungileyo abo bamcelayo?
if ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

yondelani ezintakeni zasezulwini; ngokuba azihlwayeli, azivuni, azibutheli koovimba; ukanti ke uyihlo osemazulwini uyazondla. nina anizidlule kakhulu na?
behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feedeth them. are ye not much better than they?

uthe ke yena kubo, xa sukuba nithandaza, yithini, bawo wethu osemazulwini, malingcwaliswe igama lakho. mabufike ubukumkani bakho. makwenziwe ukuthanda kwakho nasemhlabeni, njengokuba kusenziwa emazulwini.
and he said unto them, when ye pray, say, our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. thy kingdom come. thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
