thou shalt fear the lord thy god; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

uyehova wemikhosi ufunge umphefumlo wakhe, esithi, noko ndikuzalisileyo ngabantu, banga ziinkumbi ezinqunquthayo, kuya kususelwa ngawe ukwenziwa amayeyeye.
the lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, surely i will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.

xa athe umntu wabhambathisa isibhambathiso kuyehova, nokuba ufunge isifungo sokuwubopha umphefumlo wakhe ngokuzikhanyeza, makangalihlambeli ilizwi lakhe; makenze ngokwento yonke ephume emlonyeni wakhe.
if a man vow a vow unto the lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

uyehova ufunge isandla sakhe sokunene, nengalo yakhe eqinileyo, wathi, inyaniso, ingqolowa yakhe andiyi kuba sayinika iintshaba zakho ziyidle, noonyana bolunye uhlanga bangaseli iwayini yakho entsha, owazixhamla ngayo.
the lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, surely i will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
