עטה אור כשלמה נוטה שמים כיריעה׃
who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

בעתות משבר, שמים את כל המחלוקות בצד.
at times of crisis, people put all their disagreements aside.

אנשים שמים פס על מה שאתה חש או חושב.
people don’t give a shit about what you feel or what you think.

רומה על שמים אלהים על כל הארץ כבודך׃
be thou exalted, o god, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

ועוד אתה אדני לפנים הארץ יסדת ומעשה ידיך שמים׃
and, thou, lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

הטבע הוא נפלא אבל אנו לא שמים לב לכך בחיי היומיום.
nature is wonderful, but it goes unnoticed daily.

הוא מבזבז ביום אחד יותר כסף ממה שהוא חסך במשך עשר שמים.

עשה שמים וארץ את הים ואת כל אשר בם השמר אמת לעולם׃

אף ידי יסדה ארץ וימיני טפחה שמים קרא אני אליהם יעמדו יחדו׃

הישב על חוג הארץ וישביה כחגבים הנוטה כדק שמים וימתחם כאהל לשבת׃
it is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

על כן שמים ארגיז ותרעש הארץ ממקומה בעברת יהוה צבאות וביום חרון אפו׃
therefore i will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
