the first argument, we could be learning to solve real life engineering problems or science problems at school. i am sorry to break it to you, but math lies as one of the fundamentals of physics, economics, engineering, business and many fields. as an economist, you will have to view financial trends with graph functions, create reports using statistical formulas and work with probability in order to maximize profit, all of which are covered in school math and extended beyond in university. as a scientist you will have to work with different values of chemicals in reactions, using ratios and complex computing to create things like a compound capable of curing cancer or creating an ultra-efficient and eco-friendly fuel. as an actuary, you will need to view tons of data and create sense of it through mathematical formulas to come to financial conclusions. to say that math has no real-life application is not only false, but also delusional.
wiskunde is belangrik. ek weet dat sommige van u waarskynlik al u oë gerol het of opgehou het om te luister, maar dra my hier. vandag bespreek ek sommige van die argumente teen wiskunde as vak op skool en 'n argument daarteen. ek vra u nie om hier met my saam te stem nie, maar luister net wat ek sê.
