তিনি বললেন -- ''এইবার আমার মধ্যে ও তোমার মধ্যে ছাড়াছাড়ি। আমি এখন জানিয়ে দিচ্ছি তাৎপর্য যে সন্বন্ধে তুমি ধৈর্য ধরতে পারছিলে না।

কী ! আমরা কি তোমাদের থেকে স ্ মারক গ ্ রন ্ থখানা সর ্ বতোভাবে সরিয়ে নেব যেহেতু তোমরা হচ ্ ছ এক সীমালংঘনকারী জাতি ?

and i will withdraw from you and what you call on besides allah , and i will call upon my lord ; may be i shall not remain unblessed in calling upon my lord .
''আর আমি সরে যাচ্ছি তোমাদের থেকে ও আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে দিয়ে তোমরা যাদের ডাকো ওদের থেকে, আর আমি আমার প্রভুকেই ডাকব, হতে পারে যে আমার প্রভুকে ডেকে আমি করুণাবঞ্চিত হব না।’’

and i will withdraw from you , and from what you pray to instead of god . and i will pray to my lord , and i hope i will not be disappointed in my prayer to my lord . ”
''আর আমি সরে যাচ্ছি তোমাদের থেকে ও আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে দিয়ে তোমরা যাদের ডাকো ওদের থেকে, আর আমি আমার প্রভুকেই ডাকব, হতে পারে যে আমার প্রভুকে ডেকে আমি করুণাবঞ্চিত হব না।’’

i will separate myself from you and from whatever you call upon besides god , and i will pray only to my lord . it may well be that , in calling on my lord , i will not be disappointed . "
''আর আমি সরে যাচ্ছি তোমাদের থেকে ও আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে দিয়ে তোমরা যাদের ডাকো ওদের থেকে, আর আমি আমার প্রভুকেই ডাকব, হতে পারে যে আমার প্রভুকে ডেকে আমি করুণাবঞ্চিত হব না।’’

" and i shall remain separated from you and all that you worship other than allah and shall worship my lord ; possibly , by worshipping my lord , i will not be amongst the unfortunate . ”
''আর আমি সরে যাচ্ছি তোমাদের থেকে ও আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে দিয়ে তোমরা যাদের ডাকো ওদের থেকে, আর আমি আমার প্রভুকেই ডাকব, হতে পারে যে আমার প্রভুকে ডেকে আমি করুণাবঞ্চিত হব না।’’

the eldest of them said : do you not know that your father took from you a covenant in allah 's name , and how you fell short of your duty with respect to yusuf before ? therefore i will by no means depart from this land until my father permits me or allah decides for me , and he is the best of the judges :
অতঃপর যখন তারা তাঁর কাছ থেকে নিরাশ হয়ে গেল , তখন পরামর ্ শের জন ্ যে এখানে বসল । তাদের জ ্ যেষ ্ ঠ ভাই বললঃ তোমরা কি জান না যে , পিতা তোমাদের কাছ থেকে আল ্ লাহর নামে অঙ ্ গীকার নিয়েছেন এবং পূর ্ বে ইউসুফের ব ্ যাপারেও তোমরা অন ্ যায় করেছো ? অতএব আমি তো কিছুতেই এদেশ ত ্ যাগ করব না , যে পর ্ যন ্ ত না পিতা আমাকে আদেশ দেন অথবা আল ্ লাহ আমার পক ্ ষে কোন ব ্ যবস ্ থা করে দেন । তিনিই সর ্ বোত ্ তম ব ্ যবস ্ থাপক ।

their eldest said , “ don ’ t you know that your father received a pledge from you before god , and in the past you failed with regard to joseph ? i will not leave this land until my father permits me , or god decides for me ; for he is the best of deciders . ”
অতঃপর যখন তারা তাঁর কাছ থেকে নিরাশ হয়ে গেল , তখন পরামর ্ শের জন ্ যে এখানে বসল । তাদের জ ্ যেষ ্ ঠ ভাই বললঃ তোমরা কি জান না যে , পিতা তোমাদের কাছ থেকে আল ্ লাহর নামে অঙ ্ গীকার নিয়েছেন এবং পূর ্ বে ইউসুফের ব ্ যাপারেও তোমরা অন ্ যায় করেছো ? অতএব আমি তো কিছুতেই এদেশ ত ্ যাগ করব না , যে পর ্ যন ্ ত না পিতা আমাকে আদেশ দেন অথবা আল ্ লাহ আমার পক ্ ষে কোন ব ্ যবস ্ থা করে দেন । তিনিই সর ্ বোত ্ তম ব ্ যবস ্ থাপক ।

or you feel so secure that he will not send you back ( to sea ) again or send a gravel-hurtling storm against you , and drown you for your ingratitude ? then you will not find any avenger against us .
অথবা তোমরা কি এ বিষয়ে নিশ ্ চিন ্ ত যে , তিনি তোমাদেরকে আরেকবার সমুদ ্ রে নিয়ে যাবেন না , অতঃপর তোমাদের জন ্ যে মহা ঝটিকা প ্ রেরণ করবেন না , অতঃপর অকৃতজ ্ ঞতার শাস ্ তিস ্ বরূপ তোমাদেরকে নিমজ ্ জত করবেন না , তখন তোমরা আমার বিরুদ ্ ধে এ বিষয়ে সাহায ্ যকারী কাউকে পাবে না ।

o prophet ! say to those who are captives in your hands : " if allah findeth any good in your hearts , he will give you something better than what has been taken from you , and he will forgive you : for allah is oft-forgiving , most merciful . "
হে নবী , তাদেরকে বলে দাও , যারা তোমার হাতে বন ্ দী হয়ে আছে যে , আল ্ লাহ যদি তোমাদের অন ্ তরে কোন রকম মঙ ্ গলচিন ্ তা রয়েছে বলে জানেন , তবে তোমাদেরকে তার চেয়ে বহুগুণ বেশী দান করবেন যা তোমাদের কাছ থেকে বিনিময়ে নেয়া হয়েছে । তাছাড়া তোমাদেরকে তিনি ক ্ ষমা করে দিবেন । বস ্ তুতঃ আল ্ লাহ ক ্ ষমাশীল , করুণাময় ।
