for i am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for i have espoused you to one husband, that i may present you as a chaste virgin to christ.

or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the lord, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

(for the lord thy god is a jealous god among you) lest the anger of the lord thy god be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

therefore thus saith the lord god; now will i bring again the captivity of jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;

thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for i the lord thy god am a jealous god, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

and he said, i have been very jealous for the lord god of hosts: because the children of israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and i, even i only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
ဧလိယကလည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် ကောင်းကင် ဗိုလ်ခြေအရှင် ဘုရားသခင်ထာဝရဘုရားဘက်၌ အလွန် စိတ်အားကြီးပါပြီ။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်၏ပဋိညာဉ်တရားကို စွန့်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ကိုယ်တော်၏ယဇ်ပလ္လင်များကို ဖြိုဖျက်၍၊ ကိုယ်တော်၏ ပရောဖက် များကို ထားနှင့်သတ်ကြပါပြီ။ အကျွန်ုပ်တယောက် တည်းကျန်ရစ်၍၊ အကျွန်ုပ်အသက်ကိုပင် သတ်ခြင်းငှါ ရှာကြပါသည်ဟု လျှောက်လေသော်၊
