and the men that held jesus mocked him, and smote him.
ኢየሱስንም የያዙት ሰዎች ይዘብቱበትና ይደበድቡት ነበር፤

woe unto you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
እናንተ ግብዞች ጻፎችና ፈሪሳውያን፥ ሰዎች ሳያውቁ በላዩ የሚሄዱበት የተሰወረ መቃብር ስለምትመስሉ፥ ወዮላችሁ።

and they will say : ' why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here ?
ይላሉም « ለእኛ ምን አለን ? ከመጥፎዎች እንቆጥራቸው የነበሩትን ሰዎች ( እዚህ ) አናይምሳ ፡ ፡ »

these are they against whom the word has proved true among nations of the jinn and the men that have already passed away before them ; surely they are losers .
እነዚህ እነዚያ ከጋኔንም ከሰውም ከእነርሱ በፊት ካለፉት ሕዝቦች ጋር ቃሉ በእነርሱ ላይ የተረጋገጠባቸው ናቸው ፡ ፡ እነርሱ ከሳሪዎች ነበሩና ፡ ፡

and those who disbelieve will say : our lord ! show us those who led us astray from among the jinn and the men that we may trample them under our feet so that they may be of the lowest .
እነዚያም የካዱት ( በእሳት ውስጥ ኾነው ) « ጌታችን ሆይ ! እነዚያን ከጋኔንና ከሰው ያሳሳቱንን አሳየን ፡ ፡ ከታችኞቹ ይኾኑ ዘንድ ከጫማዎቻችን ሥር እናደርጋቸዋለንና » ይላሉ ፡ ፡

and we have appointed for them comrades so they have made fair-seeming to them what is before them and what is behind them , and the word proved true against them-- among the nations of the jinn and the men that have passed away before them-- that they shall surely be losers .
ለእነርሱም ቁራኛዎችን አዘጋጀንላቸው ፡ ፡ በፊታቸው ያለውንና በኋላቸው ያለውንም ሁሉ ለእነርሱ ሸለሙላቸው ፡ ፡ ከጋኔንና ከሰውም ከእነርሱ በፊት በእርግጥ ካለፉት ሕዝቦች ጋር ኾነው ቃሉ በእነርሱ ላይ ተረጋገጠባቸው ፡ ፡ እነርሱ በእርግጥ ከሳሪዎች ነበሩና ፡ ፡
