had it not been that he ( repented and ) glorified allah ,
እርሱ ለጌታው ከአወዳሾቹ ባልሆነም ኖሮ ፤

but had it not been that he was of those who glorify ( us ) ,
እርሱ ለጌታው ከአወዳሾቹ ባልሆነም ኖሮ ፤

had it been our will , we could have raised a warner in every village .
በሻንም ኖሮ በየከተማይቱ አስፈራሪን በላክን ነበር ፡ ፡

had it been our will , we could have sent a warner to every centre of population .
በሻንም ኖሮ በየከተማይቱ አስፈራሪን በላክን ነበር ፡ ፡

had it not been for the grace of my lord i too would have been there ( in hell ) .
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

and had it not been for the favor of my lord , i would certainly have been among those brought up .
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

do you not see how your lord stretches the shadow ? had it been his will , he could have made it constant .
ወደ ጌታህ ( ሥራ ) ጥላን እንዴት እንደ ዘረጋ አላየህምን በሻም ኖሮ የረጋ ባደረገው ነበር ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ፀሐይን በእርሱ ላይ ምልክት አደረግን ፡ ፡

and had it not been that we had already established you , you would certainly have been near to incline to them a little ;
ባላረጋንህም ኖሮ ወደነሱ ጥቂትን ( ዝንባሌ ) ልትዘነበል በእርግጥ በተቃረብክ ነበር ፡ ፡

and had it not been for the favour of my lord , i too had been of those haled forth ( to doom ) .
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

had it been our will to find a pastime , we would have found one near at hand ; if at all we were inclined to do so .
መጫወቻን ( ሚስትና ልጅን ) ልንይዝ በሻን ኖሮ ከእኛ ዘንድ በያዝነው ነበር ፡ ፡ ( ግን ) ሠሪዎች አይደለንም ፡ ፡

but ye turned back thereafter : had it not been for the grace and mercy of allah to you , ye had surely been among the lost .
ከዚያም ከዚህ በኋላ ( ኪዳኑን ) ተዋችሁ ፡ ፡ በናንተም ላይ የአላህ ችሮታና እዝነቱ ባልነበረ ኖሮ በእርግጥ ከጠፊዎቹ በኾናችሁ ነበር ፡ ፡

and we destroyed no township but it had its warners
አንዲትንም ከተማ ለእርሷ አስፈራሪዎች ያሏት ( እና ያስተባበለች ) ኾና እንጅ አላጠፋንም ፡ ፡

" had it not been for the grace of my lord , i should certainly have been among those brought ( there ) !
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

and had it not been for the grace of allah and his mercy unto you , and that allah is clement , wise , ( ye had been undone ) .
በእናንተም ላይ የአላህ ችሮታና እዝነቱ ባልነበረ አላህም ጸጸትን ተቀባይ ጥበበኛ ባልኾነ ኖሮ ( ውሸታሙን ይገልጸው ነበር ) ፡ ፡

" had it not been for the grace of my lord , i would certainly have been among those brought forth ( to hell ) . "
« የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር ፡ ፡ »

had it been our will we would have raised with it , but he clung to this earthly life and succumbed to his fancies . his likeness was that of a dog , whether you chase it away or let it alone it pants .
በሻንም ኖሮ በእርሷ ከፍ ባደረግነው ነበር ፡ ፡ እርሱ ግን ወደ ምድር ተዘነበለ ፡ ፡ ፍላጎቱንም ተከተለ ፡ ፡ ብጤውም ብታባርረው ምላሱን አውጥቶ የሚያለከልክ ወይም ብትተወው ምላሱን አውጥቶ የሚያለከልክ እንደ ኾነ ውሻ ነው ፡ ፡ ይህ የእነዚያ በአንቀጾቻችን ያስተባበሉት ሕዝቦች ምሳሌ ነው ፡ ፡ ያስተነትኑም ዘንድ ታሪኮችን ተርክላቸው ፡ ፡

and we did not destroy any town but it had ( its ) warners ,
አንዲትንም ከተማ ለእርሷ አስፈራሪዎች ያሏት ( እና ያስተባበለች ) ኾና እንጅ አላጠፋንም ፡ ፡

and had it not been for the grace of allah and his mercy on you , ( allah would have hastened the punishment upon you ) . and that allah is full of kindness , most merciful .
በእናንተም ላይ የአላህ ችሮታውና እዝነቱ ባልነበረ አላህም ሩኅሩኅና አዛኝ ባልኾነ ኖሮ ( ቶሎ ባጠፋችሁ ነበር ) ፡ ፡

and had it not been for a word that went forth before from your lord , and a term determined , ( their punishment ) must necessarily have come ( in this world ) .
ከጌታህ ያለፈች ቃልና የተወሰነ ጊዜ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ( ቅጣቱ አሁኑኑ ) የሚይዛቸው ይኾን ነበር ፡ ፡

and so it is that against every prophet we have set up the evil ones from among men and jinn , some of them inspire others with specious speech only by way of. delusion . had it been your lord 's will , they would not have done it .
እንደዚሁም ለነቢያት ሁሉ ከሰውና ከጋኔን የኾኑን ሰይጣናት ጠላት አደረግን ፡ ፡ ከፊላቸው ወደ ከፊሉ ለማታለል ልብስብስን ቃል ይጥላሉ ፡ ፡ ጌታህም በሻ ኖሮ ባልሠሩት ነበር ፡ ፡ ከቅጥፈታቸውም ጋር ተዋቸው ፡ ፡
