but the thamud , - they were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning !
ሠሙድማ ወሰን በሌላት ጩኸት ተጠፋ ፤ ( ተወደሙ ) ፡ ፡

ወይም በሰማይ ውስጥ ያለን በእናንተ ላይ ጠጠርን ያዘለች ነፋስን ቢልክባችሁ ትተማመናላችሁን ? ( አትፈሩምን ? ) ማስጠንቀቄም እንዴት እንደኾነ ወደፊት ታውቃላችሁ ፡ ፡

and lots were cast ( when a storm overtook them ) , he was rejected , ( and thrown overboard ) .
ዕጣም ተጣጣለ ፡ ፡ ከተሸነፉትም ሆነ ፡ ፡

do you feel secure that he who is in the heaven will not let loose upon you a storm of stones ? then shall you know what my warning is like !
ወይም በሰማይ ውስጥ ያለን በእናንተ ላይ ጠጠርን ያዘለች ነፋስን ቢልክባችሁ ትተማመናላችሁን ? ( አትፈሩምን ? ) ማስጠንቀቄም እንዴት እንደኾነ ወደፊት ታውቃላችሁ ፡ ፡

but as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
ሲሄዱም አንቀላፋ። ዓውሎ ነፋስም በባሕር ላይ ወረደ፥ ውኃውም ታንኳይቱን ይሞላ ነበርና ይጨነቁ ነበር።

do you then feel secure against his causing you to be swallowed up by the earth when you are back on land , or his sending a deadly sand storm upon you ? then you will find none to protect you .
የየብሱን በኩል ( ምድርን ) በእናንተ መገልበጡን ወይም ጠጠርን የያዘ ንፋስን በእናንተ ላይ መላኩን ከዚያም ለእናንተ ጠባቂ አለማግኘታችሁን አትፈሩምን

are ye then secure that he will not cause a side of the land to swallow you up , or send over you a sand-storm , and then ye will not find for yourselves a trustee ?
የየብሱን በኩል ( ምድርን ) በእናንተ መገልበጡን ወይም ጠጠርን የያዘ ንፋስን በእናንተ ላይ መላኩን ከዚያም ለእናንተ ጠባቂ አለማግኘታችሁን አትፈሩምን

then do you feel secure that [ instead ] he will not cause a part of the land to swallow you or send against you a storm of stones ? then you would not find for yourselves an advocate .
