and those who race each other in a race
መቅደምንም ቀዳሚዎች በኾኑት ፤

khalid and the tall boy glared at each other
ካሊድ እና ረጅሙ ልጅ እርስ በእርሳቸው ተፋጠጡ

and they called out to each other in the morning ,
ያነጉም ኾነው ተጠራሩ ፡ ፡

and , when they passed them , to wink at each other ,
በእነርሱም ላይ ባለፉ ጊዜ ይጠቃቀሱ ነበር ፡ ፡

and when they passed them by they would wink at each other ,
በእነርሱም ላይ ባለፉ ጊዜ ይጠቃቀሱ ነበር ፡ ፡

so they went off speaking to each other in a low voice :
እነርሱ የሚንሾካሾኩ ኾነው ኼዱም ፡ ፡

and whenever they passed by them , used to wink at each other ( in mockery ) ;
በእነርሱም ላይ ባለፉ ጊዜ ይጠቃቀሱ ነበር ፡ ፡

we provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds , but they do not realize this .
በበጎ ነገሮች የምንቻኮልላቸው መኾንን ( ያስባሉን ) አይደለም ፤ ( ለማዘንጋት መኾኑን ) አያውቁም ፡ ፡

and when the believers used to pass by , they used to gesture at each other with their eyes .
በእነርሱም ላይ ባለፉ ጊዜ ይጠቃቀሱ ነበር ፡ ፡

in it , they accept cups from each other , in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin .
በውስጧ መጠጥን ይሰጣጣሉ ፡ ፡ በውስጧ ውድቅ ንግግርና መውወንጀልም የለም ፡ ፡

compete with each other in performing good deeds . wherever you are , god will bring you all together .
ለሁሉም እርሱ ( በስግደት ፊቱን ) የሚያዞርባት አግጣጫ አለችው ፡ ፡ ወደ መልካም ሥራዎችም ተሽቀዳደሙ ፡ ፡ የትም ስፍራ ብትኾኑ አላህ እናንተን የተሰበሰባችሁ ኾናችሁ ያመጣችኋል ፡ ፡ አላህ በነገሩ ሁሉ ላይ ቻይ ነውና ፡ ፡

to god , these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task .
እነዚያ በመልካም ሥራዎች ይጣደፋሉ ፡ ፡ እነሱም ለርሷ ቀዳሚዎች ናቸው ፡ ፡

believers , endure , vie with each other in endurance , stand firm in your faith and fear god , so that you may succeed .
እናንተ ያመናችሁ ሆይ ! ታገሱ ተበራቱም ፡ ፡ ( በጦር ኬላ ላይ ) ተሰለፉም ፡ ፡ ትድኑም ዘንድ አላህን ፍሩ ፡ ፡

you can see many of them competing with each other in sin , hostility , and in taking usury . what they had been doing is certainly evil .
ከእነርሱም ብዙዎቹን በኃጢአትና በበደል እርምንም በመብላታቸው የሚጣደፉ ሲኾኑ ታያለህ ፡ ፡ ይሠሩት የነበሩት ነገር በጣም ከፋ !

many of them dost thou see , racing each other in sin and rancour , and their eating of things forbidden . evil indeed are the things that they do .
ከእነርሱም ብዙዎቹን በኃጢአትና በበደል እርምንም በመብላታቸው የሚጣደፉ ሲኾኑ ታያለህ ፡ ፡ ይሠሩት የነበሩት ነገር በጣም ከፋ !

now , if you were to turn away , what else can be expected but that you will work corruption in the land and fly at each other 's throats ?
ብትሽሾሙም በምድር ላይ ማበላሸትን ዝምድናችሁንም መቁረጥን ከጀላችሁን ?

and vie with each other in hastening to obtain forgiveness from your lord and toward the garden whereof the width equalleth the heavens and the earth , gotten ready for the god- fearing
ከጌታችሁ ወደ ኾነችም ምሕረትና ስፋትዋ እንደ ሰማያትና ምድር ወደ ኾነች ገነት አላህን ለሚፈሩ የተዘጋጀች ስትኾን ተቻኮሉ ፡ ፡

in this manner we shall make the wrong-doers friends of each other ( in the hereafter ) because they earned ( evil together in the world ) .
እንደዚሁም የበደለኞችን ከፊል በከፊሉ ላይ ይሠሩት በነበሩት ጥፋት ምክንያት እንሾማለን ፡ ፡

and whenever a surah is revealed , they glance at each other as though saying : " is anyone watching ? " then they slip away .
( እነሱን የምታነሳ ) ምዕራፍም በተወረደች ጊዜ አንድ ሰው ያያችኋልን እያሉ ከፊሎቻቸው ወደ ከፊሉ ይመለከታሉ ፡ ፡ ከዚያም ( ተደብቀው ) ይኼዳሉ ፡ ፡ እነርሱ የማያውቁ ሕዝቦች በመኾናቸው አላህ ልቦቻቸውን አዞረ ፡ ፡

then we bequeathed the book to those of our servants that we chose . now , some of them wrong themselves and some follow the medium course ; and some , by allah 's leave , vie with each other in acts of goodness .
ከዚያም እነዚያን ከባሮቻችን የመረጥናቸውን መጽሐፉን አወረስናቸው ፡ ፡ ከእነርሱም ነፍሱን በዳይ አልለ ፡ ፡ ከእነርሱም መካከለኛ አልለ ፡ ፡ ከእነሱም በአላህ ፈቃድ በበጎ ሥራዎች ቀዳሚ አልለ ፡ ፡ ያ ( ማውረስ ) ፤ እርሱ ታላቅ ችሮታ ነው ፡ ፡
